It's all about being green and watching your carbon footprint these days is it not, and this place has a conscience. Which is nice to know. On the waterfront of the River Mersey, you can't argue with its exceptional location and the whole BT thing is only part of it. The name stands for Arena and Convention Centre, and the Echo Arena forms part of this. It's actually one of the largest venues of its kind you'll find on these shores, and it has the utmost in technological wizardry at its forefront. Plus, that size. Well, we all find size impressive. I'm talking about BUILDINGS! If you do get the chance to catch something here, and I'm guessing that'll be a concert rather than a conference, do give it a go. It's mighty awe-inspiring and a great place to visit, plus you're still very central and the transport links are therefore rather sharp. Excellent.

It's a lovely little romantic stadium for a team that never expected to be this high, although I can't give it more than a 4 because it's so tiny for this level. They even name their big stand "The Kop" after Anfield's stand. They once had 35k people show up to watch them face Manchester United. This all leads up to one thing... such a grand stadium, even for a non league team, and they are the pride of the conference and destined to get back in the football league someday. Add to the fact that it's a supporter owned team (Wrexham AFC) and it's 5 stars across the board for these Welsh wonders.

I have to give the hallowed turf and spiritual home of Stockport County a five star rating…read more I've been coming to Edgeley Park since I was a wee nipper and the only thing that's changed is a slightly more crumbled stadium, a scoreboard that makes its own mind up of when it's going to work and a slow and painful drop for the team through 5 divisions in 10 years. But - this is real football! If you can't afford to attend Utd or City each week and want to enjoy the pints in the pub beforehand, the banter on the terrace and the fact that you can meet and chat to the players before and after the game, then Edgeley Park is the place to be each Saturday. County are now in the Conference North, playing teams that get around 10-20% of the 4000 a week attendance we get, so the 2013-2014 season could be a good place to start for anyone up for a bit of glory hunting At £15 to get in and a little over £3 a pint (with local brewery Robinsons well stocked - just make sure you sit in the Cheadle End) it's a cost effective place to enjoy a few hours each week. The pies aren't half bad as well, as everyone who I meet for the first time tells me once I say I'm a County fan - just ask the Geordies I know who attend about 4 times a year and can't wait for their lunch time treat at half time!

Good times, good memories. It's a very imposing, grand, fantastic stadium for rugby, and it's just as amazing on the inside, it looks like it houses a lot more than 14k people. I would have given it a 5 if it was also for a football team, but I'm biased against Rugby ;) My concert in Warrington wasn't great, especially not the text messages I received later, but all that aside, this is an amazing stadium.

It has a beach just south of it named Ainsdale which is where you can drive cars right on the sand, and lots of kids learn to drive (and is where I learned to drive in my Dad's old worn out used brown (ew, brown) BMW). Southport play in yellow and were founded in 1881. I always support seaside teams because well, it's by the seaside, especially if they play in nice colors like Southport do. They're one of very few teams in Merseyside (or rather on Merseyside), the others being Runcorn, Everton, and um, the best team in the universe. LFC. It's a nice stadium right next to people's houses (always the best way) and it has yellow in the stands to complement the sexy kits of the players. Liverpool girls are up there with the prettiest in the UK so you can usually see a few of them with their unfortunate-looking boyfriends in the stands. I think most boys look unfortunate, but then that's my opinion. One of the stands is called "Blowick" but is affectionately known as "Blowquick" because of what usually happens there when the football is boring. The wind whips off the Irish sea and batters Southport and this stadium too. Hence the name "Blowick" as in "the wind is Blowick in from Ireland." It used to be known as Ash Lane and opened in 1905. If the stadium were right by the sea it would score a 5.

The guys that took over this place have done a fantastic job renovating it!…read more Anyone who's been here before will know it was in a right state, the turf was old and the boards were dangerous. Not anymore! It looks like they've put in a good chunk of money to do it up and the facilities now really are state of the art. Brand new 3G and new boards, netting and floodlights have been added. The pitch can either be used for 8v8 or split into 2 5v5 pitches. These updates really make Burnden Park just as good as anywhere for a kick around with the lads!
