I was already really looking forward to it when I arrived, but as someone with a love for historic homes, stepping up to the wrap around porch made me swoon. The home is so beautiful and nostalgic, the wood floors creaking and popping underfoot, and this heavenly mixed scent of skincare/spa/baked goods...I couldn't always put my finger on the scent, but even as someone with sensory sensitivities, it was a sensory delight. Lani put me right at ease. She clearly knows her craft and I felt that I could trust her to perform a chemical peel on my face. The whole experience was so soothing and luxious, I nearly fell asleep. Afterwards, she made suggestions for follow up services to meet my skincare goals and some products to use in the healing process. There was absolutely no pressure, just suggestions, as I had also indicated on my paperwork that I was open to suggestions and recommendations. I appreciate that this is asked ahead of time. 2 days out from my facial and peel, my skin still looks amazing and the peeling is very manageable. I've been lucky and have had pretty clear, albeit sensitive, skin for most of my life, but my skin went haywire earlier this year. Nothing I did helped clear my acne and I was to the point where I had over treated my skin and it was painful to the touch. I knew that if I wanted to clear it up and keep it clear, I need to meet with a professional to understand what was happening. In came Amanda. At our first appointment, she had me fill out a detailed questionnaire about my makeup, skincare, eating, and lifestyle habits. She looked at my skin and presented me with a few options on how we could tackle clearing up my skin. I ultimately chose to participate in her Clear Skin Club, where I went in for an acne facial twice a month for three months. Additionally, she recommended that I use certain products according to exactly what my skin needed. She provided me with paperwork that was in layman's terms so that I could understand what types of products agitate our skin and cause acne. I made the necessary adjustments to my makeup by weeding out products that are pore-clogging and using the skincare products Amanda recommended. I fully committed to following her guidance! She literally educated me on an entire world that I didn't know about and drastically improved my skin in the process. I'm so thankful I found Amanda. She helped me not only clear up with skin via facials, but helped me understand the science behind skin and breakouts in order to maintain clear skin moving forward. I wanted to go Burgundy red for winter (think red wine color) and am naturally a dark brunette. I emailed photos of what I wanted prior to coming for the appointment and was nervous because we were going away on a trip shortly after. The stylist who did my hair was really kind, I just don't think she knew what she was doing. My hair came out orange instead of dark red. I left because I was kinda in shock and she was really excited about it and didn't know how to tell her. When I got home my husband asked me what I did to my hair so that's when I realized I had to do something and change it. I emailed immediately and even called the next day after not hearing back via email and finally I just walked in two days later (and it seemed like they were avoiding me because they couldn't get ahold of the owners to figure out what to do). Eventually they scheduled me to come back the following day and tried to fix it but it was still super brassy. I spent over $240 (they didn't charge the second time) but still was really disappointed. Unfortunately I will not return here. Fortunately I found another awesome salon across town which is way cheaper and they seem to know how to use color. My hair has since been fixed (a couple hundred bucks later and a new stylist later).

As if that is supposed to make somebody feel better. I don't believe she let it process near long enough. She said that it was a good first step, as if I'm going to let her touch my hair again. What's really disheartening is I have never paid more for a cut and color, and I have never been less satisfied. I have since toned my hair down some at home because I was not going to go out in public the way that it looked before, I'm just sad that I have had to spend yet more money trying to fix this mistake. I even tried to share what had helped other stylist do my hair in the past but again my stylist was not receptive to this. I think she wanted to get out of work on time. I tried to maintain composure and be polite during the appointment because I can understand the amount of time put in, but when I got home and saw how bad my hair was my heart sank. I am a V on the Fitzpatrick scale. I called a week prior to my appointment to express my concerns and actually had the opportunity to speak witht the owner. Upon my arrival, there were clip boards with ceramic name plates so you knew which one was yours. I personally thought that was a cute touch. I was greeted immediately and was offered something to drink. They had waters, coffee, and sodas. I had several papers to fill out due to it being my first time. After completeing all my paper work, the owner came out and actually spoke to me and asked if I was who she talked to. She told me Jamie would be the the one to do my procedure, and again ensured me that I would be in good hands. Visually, this place is appealing to the eye. Their decor was amazing. They had a candle out with a sign saying which scent was being burnt. This place does all kind of things such as facials and massages. During my consultation, Jamie explained to me how the laser worked in great detail and had lots of visual aids. She also showed me before, during, and after photos of people that had gone through the tattoo removal process. She also included some of people of color. She legit answered every question I had and was very patient. Initially I did not plan to have it done that day and was only going for the consultation, but she made me feel very at ease about doing it. SO I DID IT!!! The laser part took literally less than 5 minutes. She also allowed me breaks whenever I asked for them or would break when she could see my body getting tight.
