I was impressed by the deCuisine website, and it had a particular item I wanted which I've not found anywhere else. The price and p&p were very reasonable so I ordered it. A month later I hadn't received the item or heard anything back from the company, so I emailed them asking if there was a problem with my order. I hadn't heard back from them after 3 days so I Googled the company online, and found a lot of negative comments from disgruntled customers. I assumed there was going to be a problem getting my money back. I emailed the company again, asking for my money back, got a response and an explanation within a couple of days, and the money was refunded quickly. I would buy from them again, provided I wasn't in a hurry for an item. The problem is that, unless you look in the Terms and Conditions page of their website, you don't realise that some items are going to take a while to arrive. Perhaps they should contact customers after a few weeks if there is going to be a delay. Other than these criticisms, I think the company is OK. From what I read, it's a small, family business and they get overloaded sometimes. The problem is that there are some dodgy companies on the web so customers naturally get concerned if they can't get a quick response to emails/phone calls. read more

I used this store to order some Christmas presents online. It's a cookware store and it has a great range of quality products, and extremely good prices. Originally I ordered three items before Christmas, but when two turned out to still not be in stock as time got closer, I realised I was not going to get them in time. However, they happily refunded me for the two items without hesitation. I later asked if I could get a replacement for something which broke, and again, they did this without question. They reply to emails very promptly and are so helpful that I even emailed them to thank them for fabulous service. read more

This has to be a scam. The net is full of the same story about card charged immediately and order never received. It happened to me too. This is what you can do: call your credit card company, file a charge back against them. They will send you a form, you fill and send, and your money will be refunded to you by the credit card company, who will later charge back the merchant's account + a charge back fee. This is the only way to 'pay them back'. read more

I ordered a gorgeous bell shaped cake tin to make my daughter a barbie doll cake. The order did take quite a while to arrivre but on phoning up, it was explained that the tins were individually made and they were just awaiting more stock. They also answered all my questions on how to bake the cake and even send me additional cake decorations in the post! I am very happy with the product and the customer service was excellent. Their other items are so lovely that I will definetely be buying from them again in the future read more

I have used this company several times and could not fault the service. My orders always arrived in a couple of days. The website is clear and very easy to use. I shall most certainly use them again and recommend to others. Thanks for an excellent service. read more

I also had problems with decuisine fulfilling an order and also had to open a dispute with Paypal to get my money back. Yes it took six weeks and yes it was frustrating however, I don't think Mr Wheale is trying to scam anyone. I think it is a fairly successful online business, but by their own admission they don't seem to understand how the software they are using actually works so that when problems occur they have absolutely no idea how to sort them out. I think it takes them so long to sort out each customer complaint of non delivery that they leave them to stack up and as a consequence get very negative feedback on various web-sites. I think the family who own decuisine need to nominate someone to go and actually learn how their software works ,how it can be improved and how to set up an effective customer service which can be reached by phone and can deal with non deliveries . They also need a proper stock control system that marks web-site item 'out of stock' instead of just taking the money. If the central tenet of your business is that is entirely online,it does seem rather obvious that you should be completely au fait with the system. I wouldn't order from them again; there are too many other suppliers online who can get the goods I order to me within three days. read more

I placed an order in July 2011 the payment was taken immediately from my account under the name 'paypal' (I do not have a paypal account). I sent several emails which were ignored. Then got a random email in September telling me that their supplier had notified them that the goods would be delivered in a few days and I would be getting priority dispatch by 1st class mail. I have not received the goods. My view of this company is that they get away with customers not bothering to pursue them for refunds or taking further steps to get their money back because it is normally small amounts of money say under £20 and I think that is why they are getting away with it. read more

Well they have finally gone out of business wish I had read the reviews before ordering from them. How they have managed to con or Mike Wheale has managed to con so many people, he must be sitting pretty with the money he has collected from people like myself only spoke to him on Friday 18 May 2012 when he agreed to refund my £38.09 as he couldn't deliver now the website has a message on saying they have ceased trading. Not hopeful of getting my money back through the bank. He really shouldn't get away with it but will. *SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY STARS AS EVERYONE ELSE HAS SAID BUT NO OPTION FOR NOT GIVING ANY** read more

Disgraceful service. I placed an order for some laof pans as a gift, with plenty of time to spare as they were meant to be in stock. Payment was taken the next day, but the goods inexplicably did not arrive for more than 2 weeks, making them too late to give to the recipient. I had emailed to find out what was going on, but received no reply. When I opened the package, I found that one of the pans was faulty, although the invoice insisted that all goods were checked prior to dispatch. I emailed them to arrange an exchange, but after a week they had not replied. I wrote to them, but once again more than a week later they still have not replied. This is the worst Internet shopping experience I have ever had. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I placed and order on 16th of December and paid extra to receive the good's within 48 hours. I still haven't received the product and have today seen that they took the money from my account on 30th Jan!! How cheeky is that! I'm currently taking this up with trading standards and need a valid address for them, does anyone have one?!? Please don't buy anything from these people. read more

The worst online retailer I have dealt with. Waited 6 weeks for a pan I'd ordered before finally deciding to cancel my order. Waited another 4 weeks for my refund to eventually come through. 95% of emails unanswered, must have called them at least a hundred times and only once managed to speak to someone. Threat of legal action and a call to watchdog seemed to be the thing that got me my money back but took an awful lot of time and effort on my part. My advice would be to steer clear of them at all costs. read more

As with others here, I have found the service appalling. I ordered an item (luckily fairly cheap) 3 weeks ago in plently of time for Christmas and it is still showing as "awaiting packing" on their order tracker, even though payment was taken the day I ordered it. They do not reply to emails or answer the phone. I will be contacting my credit card provider for a refund and hopefully they will charge the company accordingly or better still prevent them taking credit card payments in future. I strongly suspect the two positive reviews below were planted by this bunch of thieves pretending to operate a legitimate kitchen supplies business. read more

All my experiences with this company could not have been more pleasurable. I have purchased several items from their website, including my favourite cook's knife. Everything is the highest quality, and the communication, delivery and personal attention is second to none. I have their site bookmarked in my browser and will continue to go there for my cooking needs. read more

From the deCuisine.co.uk website, I have bought bakeware for myself a couple of years ago and a birthday gift for a family member in January 2010. On both occasions, I was completely happy with their products and their service. I received the items right away and they were just as described. I really enjoy cooking and I invest in good quality, long-lasting equipment. Based upon my previous experience with deCuisine.co.uk, I will shop with them again when I am in need of any further kitchenware. read more

The one star is there for illustration purposes only, as is the stock on de cuisine. I wanted to give less. Instead of calling number on site try this one gained from a Experian credit report. 01207 621169 I spoke with Mike Wheale, after not getting any responses on the site listed one. Ordered on Friday AM, no contact or order advicesent what they felt like or claimed to, haven't received anything?? He agreed to a partial refund 70% of my order. But would return balance when he received goods back. You know the ones I haven't received. Mike Wheale claims he spoke with trust pilot (after being sick of bad reviews) and review sites and over the last 24hrs he claims their score has improved? Similar to all the bad ones. I ordered the item costing less than £10 on 1st March. They took the money from my bank account on the 3rd. 2 months later no goods and the company is not contactable by their web form or by telephone ( I tried all morning and the phone was engaged or off the hook the whole time. I have written to them for a refund so shall expect the rubber cheque. Next stop the bank and trading standards. Is Watchdog still going? read more

Absolutely appaulling service. I ordered goods worth over £100. When I received them the invoice had a note by hand scrawled across the bottom that half the order was not there as their suppliers had not taken the goods off a pallet (even though it has said they were in stock when I placed the order!!). I waited and 2 weeks later had heard nothing. I tried calling and their phones rang out. I emailed and finally I received an email informing me that my order had been dispatched. When I received the second order I could not believe it when there was still something missing. Again I have tried calling and emailing with no response. It is such a shame as had the order gone well I would have given them quite a lot of repeat custom. I am still waiting for my last item and am still unable to get a hold of anyone in Decuisine. From placing the order on June 5th to today (13 Aug) that is dreadful service and am thinking of writing to them and reminding them of the Distance Selling Regulations to which they have sadly not adhered to. From this experience I would not recommend them. read more

Good merchandise but customer service leaves something to be desired. I ordered four cake tins and an oil sprayer from de Cuisine and am very pleased with the quality of the goods but there was a delay and a lack of communication/poor service. The online order tracker gave absolutely no information and they never answer the phone which is rather annoying when one is trying to chase up an order. Only part of my order was shipped at first (after about a week) but the automated email referred to the whole original order, leaving me disappointed when I opened the package (I found a cute little note saying the rest of the order should shipped the next week). However, they were friendly and helpful once I sent a second online query saying I was getting anxious. (Wedding fast approaching, when will the cake tins come? Contact me now or I will have to shop elsewhere!). This guy seemed to know his stuff once I managed to make contact but de Cuisine need more staff or some other serious measures to improve customer service. He (Mike?) had the temerity to suggest I pay extra postage for rushing the tins to me after the delay and seemed keen to blame the supplier for the delay rather than say sorry for de Cuisine's short comings. Perhaps I was unlucky...but having scanned the other reviews on this site it seems advisable to shop elsewhere. read more

I have never experienced customer services like this. I ordered a springform 20cm cake tin for £ 11.20 on 12.06.09, and the money was taken from my account the same day. As I hadn't received it by the following week, I phoned the customer services number shown on their website: 01202-620097. However, there was just a recorded message and no way to leave a message. I then tried to contact them via their "contact" form, but there was just a message to say it wasn't working. So I wrote to them at their offices in Lytchett Matravers. I received no reply so kept trying to contact them as above, all to no avail. I then decided to track my order on their website. To my surprise, my order had been "voided from the system"! I e-mailed them at info@decuisine.co.uk on 04.01.10, but still received no reply. I have tried contacting them several times since then, and must admit it eventually got put to one side as I was busy with other things. I have just taken up the matter again and have written them a message on their "contacts" form. It says I should have an answer within 1-2 days so let's see! read more

DO NOT BUY FROM DECUISINE.CO.UK Decuisine.co.uk are a fraudulent cookware company taking money from your credit card the day after you order, then offering no goods in return. I bought under 200 pounds worth of cookware equipment from them and received only one item, under duress. Their email does not work as they cannot manage all the traffic of complaints, their phone system (yes that clearly stated hotline) does not work and they move the times of operation from morning to night and back again so that you can't reach them. It is always engaged. As decuisine.co.uk has to leave the line open for the odd supplier call (no doubt they have another number to call), you can get Mike, he calls himself if you really persist. He says that he is a former sales manager for a cookware company with a bad heart and is under pressure, but this is untrue. He has moved his business premises at least 3 times now. Have a look at the complaints here http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/www.decuisine.co.uk and please do not get caught in this con trick like we did. read more

I am so annoyed Imanaged to pursuade a company to f=do a 3 tiered wedding pie for my wedding but they needed me to provide the tins. I ordered them from De Cuisine and they took the money out straight away. The comapny needed the tins quickly to practice but after a number of weeks, ignored emails and not being able to get through on the phone I ended up requesting a refund and cancellation of the order. Still nothing so I requested confirmation of the cancellation and refund. After a few days they dispatched 2 out of 3 items in the mean time I had to pay £170 for the wedding pie for my wedding and am still out of pocket for the partially fulfilled useless order. I cannot return without driving to dorset and banging on te door as they do not respond to any kind of communication. I wish I'd looked on the review sites as everyone has had the same experience and I am now having to write to trading standards. read more

I originally ordered some items on 2nd September 2010. Only half the order arrived and wasn't quite right so they agreed I could return it and exchange for a different item. I was told the 2nd part of the order would arrive in the next week. Despite many phonecalls - I always get engaged signal. I've filled in their online form, but still get no response. It's now more than 3 months since I orginally put in the order and I still have no response from them. I have even sent them a 'trading standards' letter from Consumer Direct requesting a full refund, and they haven't responded to that. So I'm now going to have to contact consumer direct about next legal steps in order to get my full refund. I will never use this company again and would warn anyone against using them. From other comments I've seen on the internet, I'd say this is a frequent problem with this company. read more

I too am still waiting for my product ordered 11/11/10 and bebited from my credit card 15/11/10. As today is 18/12/10 and my goods have still not arrived and my emails remain unanswered apart from a "tracking advise of goods despatched", I will be contacting my credit card company to seek a refund from this company. The Milton and Brooks mortar and pestle I ordered is not available in Australia and Amazon would not despatch to Australia. I though I was lucky finding this company to purchase this product from...sadly I was mistaken. Under no circumstance should you use this company, they are a scam. I wish I had Googled before I purchased I have only now investigated and found copious amounts of negative comments. I suggest the positive comments have been written by the decuisine themselves. They deserve a negative star rating. read more

Clearly a completely fraudulent company. I ordered 2 items in early November 2010. The cheaper of the items arrived within a week, with a note to say that the other item would be delivered the following week. It never arrived, and I have never heard from the company, despite sending a barrage of online "contact us" forms. Their phone is clearly kept permanently off the hook. Can we take some group action on this? And is it difficult to claim money back from the bank if you've paid by credit card? When I look now at the website, the warning signs are there - not to provide a proper email address and to have such limited "phone" hours is clearly dubious. Wish I had checked the company out before ordering. read more

I have been extremely disappointed with my dealings with Decuisine.co.uk. Half the order arrived 2-3 months after ordering, and paying, one item was incorrect and although I have left on-line requests and e-mails, no response has ever been received. The second half of the order has finally arrived, but the incorrect item has still not been replaced and I am unable to make contact. I can now see that this standard practise for this company and am so pleased my missing item is only for 3.99. It really is disgraceful and I wish I had checked with this review website before ever placing an order. Well, lesson learnt. I will be checking out everyone I deal with in future. read more

I have read a lot of the reviews on this company and am somewhat puzzled. I have had a great deal of stuff from this company and don't have a single word of complaint about the service, the time from ordering to delivery and the quality. I have also ordered things for my daughter and she also has been very satisfied. I am very surprised that this small company has so many reviews anyway. More often than not a company only has one or two if any, therefore I am very suspicious as to the reason why so many 'people' have written so many negative reviews. I wonder if it is a negative marketing ploy???? read more

Goods ordered November 2009, no telephone calls or emails answered. Wrote to them after two weeks quoting 'Customer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 as advised by Consumer Direct. deCuisine acknowledged, upon receipt of first letter, that they would cancel my order and refund any monies paid. February 2010 - nothing. Wrote to them again requesting payment within fourteen days or action would be taken - nothing. This can not be a real company. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!! I ordered a milk frothing jug on 6 Jan 09 and money was taken immediately from my debit card but I never received my goods. I have phoned literally hundreds of times and get the same answer machine message and have contacted them via email and through their website and they haven't responded to a single email. I ordered some baking tins from De Cuisine. I did not receive the goods and asked for a refund. After a while they sent me a cheque. It took several emails to get it. BUT it was unfortunately a rubber cheque. Today it bounced and is unpaid. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AS THEY LET ME DOWN ONCE BEFORE, BUT AT LEAST BEFORE THEY EITHER MADE A REFUND OR HADN'T CHARGED ( I can't remember which).
