Costa did some work at my home and I am so disappointed with the work, it is awful…read more The paint work and plastering are extremely patchy and lumpy and a complete eye sore. It just seemed like they didn't know what they were doing but they claim to be experts in decorating, which is questionable. Also, they damaged my flooring as they have made massive dents in the wooden flooring and they didn't even mention that they did this as they thought it was acceptable to do this. My heart dropped when I saw the flooring like this. There was no care for my personal belongings, I asked them to cover my personal items up properly but they either didn't bother to put the plastic sheet over my items or they would the plastic sheet down whilst doing lots of messy work. Also, they painted the front room in two different shades of white and the plaster and paint work looks messy and not to a professional standard. They even damaged the heating monitor, which controls the heating and I had to call an engineer to fix this and this caused me to have no heating during the cold weather. I told Costa that he broke the heating control and he just looked at me and said nothing, which I thought was rather odd at the time but I could tell by his face that he knew that he had broken the heating control monitor. I have severe asthma and was forced to sleep without heating and I told them I have breathing problems but they didn't care at all. I am very vulnerable person. When they want your business, they seem to be nice and all smiles but when you tell about the mistakes that they have made with the work, they are not interested in listening at all. I have had a terrible experience with this company and unfortunately, I cannot recommend them.

On the windows they charged me for acoustic glazing but they delivered regular double glazing. This was ordered in Jan/Feb 2014 and it's now one year down the road and we are still missing a complete set of patio doors, correction work on the wrong design (their error) and acoustic glazing. They do not reply to polite communications and has left my home freezing cold through winter and extremely noisy. Complete lack of customer service - they think it's OK to make errors and leave customers out of pocket. This is now being resolved through the courts. Would never use or recommend.

We wanted to post this review to WARN anyone thinking about using A-Klass Carpentry and Joinery LTD services. The owner of this company is named Carl. We have used him a number of times over the years in an attempt to build relationships and every time we have tried with him he has let us down... on timings, causing delays and extra costs frustration for ourselves and our clients. He is an outright liar, he will makes promises he doesn't keep. His staff are often unskilled, unreliable, lazy, messy leaving used materials and lunchtime food containers all around their work space, and they often don't turn up to do the work. When they do finally attend site they are unprofessional in their manner and in how they go about their business. The work is often left not finalised and requires additional visits (which never happen or can take weeks, if not months to action) to fix and secure the poor workmanship (staircases in particular.) He often has to under take a second or third visit...so be WARNED. His project management skills are poor at best and he's often impossible to get on the phone when something needs amending, or additional work. He a likeable personality but don't let that fool you he cannot be trusted to deliver work from start to finish. If we could have given no stars we would, use at your peril and extreme frustration. Please note we were not a one time customer and he had good reasons to take care of us, too secure future work and his service was terrible, terrible, terrible.

He was prompt, efficient, polite and had an imaginative approach to solving the problems which arose along the way. Also he came back without charge six month's later to fix a minor problem which had arisen with one of the doors. Because I don't have experience of all that the company can do I have only given them a 4 star rating but I would ask them back to do other and possibly larger jobs without hesitation.

We had four quotes. Loft Life were not the cheapest but they were also not the most expensive. In the end we decided to go with Loft Life, especially after seeing our friends loft. That was one of the best decisions we have made when it comes to building works on our home. The building work is done and we have just finished decorating and we are thrilled with the final result. We would like to comment on the professionalism that Loft Life provided, especially to John, who came back and repaired some damage caused by the scaffolders. John was in our opinion an expert builder with a confident, pleasant manner, he was always one step ahead of us recommending and reassuring us. He managed his team expertly and has great respect from his colleagues. But a special mention most go to Spencer, who took us through the whole process. Right from the beginning they have been professional and hard working. We were very lucky to get the amazing Richard as our project manager and he made the whole experience run smoothly. He was always on time, when we had a slight leak in the roof one weekend he drove a couple of hours to come and fix it, he always made sure everything was tidied away so that it was safe for our 2 year old and if we had an issue with anything he was quick to fix it without question. We hardly had any snagging when it came to the end of the build and any we did was dealt with straight away. I couldn't recomend them highly enough, we are extremely pleased with the end result and if anyone has any questions I would be happy to help as I know how daunting it is choosing a company you trust enough to carry out the work.

It was great to see not 1 or 2 dingy photos of previous work but 2 whole portfolios of clear bright photos of the whole range of work Custom Carpentry carries out. Tristan filled us with confidence, from the start; he paid great attention to what we said we wanted, made drawings and discussed every detail with us until he was sure we were happy. Valentine and Jan who built the wardrobes and shelves and then painted them were punctual, polite and skilled. Plus; there was no mess left behind! We cannot recommend Tristan highly enough.
