By far my favourite large book shop in Hannover! Usually has a very decent selection of books, also…read moreof foreign language titles. The service here is great, I never have to wait too long, and if I want to order a title (foreign or domestic), the title is usually back in the shop within a day (given it is available at all.) I also like the layout of the shop a lot - it is all very orderly and clear to me, especially the bestseller wall that shows what books are currently most popular with the German customers. Also, its location could hardly be better - five minutes by foot from the train station, or literally no more than a minute from the city centre by definition, the Kröpcke.

The Thalia at Obernstrasse 50 is a fully inventoried, three level extravaganza of a book store. I…read morewas fortunate to find two paperbacks in there reasonably extensive English language section, which contains both hardbound and paperbacks. Any English-speaker in need of a novel should give this store a try. It's really worth the time and trouble caused by this crowded shopping area.
