History

Established in 1980.

Debra's Studio is a family owned business that has been capturing precious memories for our beloved clients for over 30 years. The studio is located in downtown Tell City, and according to courthouse records, was built in 1848. As far as we know, its history includes having once been a jail, a boarding house, and a restaurant. We recently finished a year and a half remodeling project, doing most of the work ourselves. Not only did we save money, we put own own blood, sweat, and tears into the project! We like to think we saved this old building from perhaps being demolished. We almost certainly could have built a new one for all of the time and money that we have invested in it, but we hope that once you visit, you will see that it has been a labor of love, and has a special charm that no new building could rival. We love what we do and would love the opportunity to work for you!

Meet the Business Owner: Debra E.

I was born and raised in Tell City, moved far away from a few years, then came back to stay in 1979. I opened the studio in 1980 and the rest is history! I love people, especially little people! Through the art of photography, I strive to celebrate what it is about your little one that makes them extraordinary at this moment in time. It is not uncommon for a client to tell me that the portrait that I took of their son or daughter way back when is still their favorite today. As a mother of two grown children, I know the journey is brief. I cherished each and every moment of raising my children. As a photographer, the best thing that happened to me was to have my own children. The wonder of a child discovering the world around them, each unique and budding personality is to be celebrated. Though my years of experience and great attention to detail, I will do my best to help you record the innocence and beautify of your child.
