    # They take the liberty of canceling your appointments even without your confirmation!!!…read more If you ever want your doctor's appointment to be canceled, even without your knowledge, then you are in luck, and the Doctor's patient service manager takes all the credit and liberty in doing this. Personally, I don't know the doctor, but I saw really good reviews for her and her team. Thinking that they would all be professional and provide an excellent diagnosis and service, I scheduled an appointment with her by calling Sutter Health's patient care line back in June this year for a UTI/Vaginal discomfort diagnosis. I got very frustrated when they cancelled my appointment today (10/4) for the one I had on (10/6) without even asking for my confirmation. They called me around 11:30 am while I was still in an office meeting, and even before I could hear the voicemail and respond, I got a message on the Sutter Health app saying that my appointment had been cancelled. My husband and I kept calling the Los Altos office from noon to 3 pm to find out why and how they could proceed without my confirmation. We just kept hearing that the manager was still in her "lunch". Only after speaking with patient relations was I able to connect with the relevant person. The staff member (Betty) who spoke informed me that they had the right to cancel my appointment without my consent, and I should be aware of all the conditions related to OB/GYN that Dr. Shin would diagnose. We found these comments to be unprofessional and rude, lacking empathy for me. Additionally, in the reason for cancellation, they mentioned that since I have already established my patient care at another facility within Sutter Health, I should go there instead. This seemed absurd, as I had already scheduled an appointment with the Los Altos center earlier in June. How can a patient be expected to be aware of all this information? Isn't this the duty of a patient relations manager? In the end, the staff sounded a little rude and even said, "I know you have a patient relation number, and if you want to proceed with the grievance, go ahead." This kind of attitude in health care is unacceptable, and it is not fair to cancel a critical appointment without a patient's consent. My right as a patient to reasonable continuity of care, advance notice of appointments, and participation in care decisions was violated. I request that the Sutter Health Patient Care Team investigate this matter so that, in the future, no one can end up in a similar situation.

They tried everything from induction to breaking my water. But my baby was just too comfortable to come out. Mind you, I was going for all natural so I wasn't given any type of epidural anesthesia for the first 3 days. Until day 4, they wanted to try the maximum amount of induction medication and worried that I wouldn't be able to handle it, so I was then given epidural. One of the doctors broke my water on day 3 evening, hoping it would trigger the baby to go down more, but unfortunately didn't do much. Dr. Anderson came and greeted me on day 4; I told her that I recognized her because I was trying to get her to be my pregnancy OBGYN. She was the most caring doctor throughout the 4 days I was there. She came check on me as she promised every hour. She came in to let me know that she was performing a C-section for another mom so it would take longer for her to come back to see me. Then, she came right after she was done. In the evening of day 4, she recommended C-section because it was almost 24hr since my water broke, and the baby might be too big to come down any further any time soon. I asked if she can perform the C-section for me - although she was time for her to go home, she said yes and promised to be there for me. I agreed with the C-section and they started to get the surgery room ready. Dr. Anderson talked and explained every step throughout the surgery. My baby came out perfect and she was weighing at 9lbs. Perhaps that's why she wasn't going down. Again, how I till this day, wish I saw Dr. Anderson from day one of my pregnancy or my labor. I really think that my experience would be a lot better than it was. I recommend Dr. Anderson for all the moms out there.

She is one of my favorite doctors I've ever had. She was so patient with all my questions and never made me feel rushed which was such a relief- it's never fun when a doctor makes you feel like an inconvenience. She is so knowledgeable, would be thorough when answering my questions and go through all my options. She is friendly and always made me feel like a priority. I live about 45 minutes away but it was totally worth it to drive that far and I couldn't be happier with the care I received throughout my pregnancy!

I'm currently under the care of a physician affiliated with El Camino Hospital and Bay Area Maternity, and the difference in attentiveness and support has been night and day. I would not recommend Dr. Ecklund, particularly for anyone dealing with sensitive or complex reproductive health issues. While she was helpful when I first saw her nearly a decade ago, my later experiences raised serious concerns about the level of care provided. Over the years, I experienced four miscarriages. After the first, Dr. Ecklund was completely unreachable, and another doctor had to step in. During my second miscarriage, she did not follow appropriate protocols, such as conducting a full panel of hormone tests -- something I ultimately had to advocate for myself. Most recently, after discovering I was pregnant again, I reached out promptly, given my history. Despite previously telling me to notify her immediately in such a case, her office stated she would not see me until 8-10 weeks. While this may be standard for most pregnancies, it is not appropriate for someone with recurrent pregnancy loss. Fortunately, I was able to find a more responsive and compassionate provider, recommended by a friend, who saw me right away. In addition to the lack of individualized care, I felt there was an overall emphasis on promoting fertility treatments rather than investigating the root causes of my miscarriages. After my second loss, Dr. White -- covering for Dr. Ecklund at the time -- strongly pushed IVF, despite the fact that I had been able to conceive naturally each time after only a few months of trying. It felt less like a thoughtful recommendation and more like a rushed, sales-driven approach. Finally, I find it concerning that my original review on Yelp appeared to have been hidden or removed without explanation, requiring me to repost it. I believe it's important that patients are able to share honest experiences, especially when it comes to critical matters like reproductive health.

However, time went on and I attended a group for pregnant women with gestational diabetes and learned that they had been tested for gestational diabetes earlier in their pregnancy than me at the stage after I had transitioned to her. However, from my recollection I asked her why she hadn't referred me for testing and she acknowledged she should have but she would at that time. It turned out after testing I did indeed have gestational diabetes but it was not being addressed unless I had asked her for testing. I later tried to address with my diet monitored by a type of dietician but ended up taking insulin. When I called the managing doctor or director at that time he initially heard me out. He agreed she should have had me tested earlier but then asked me curtly, is your baby alright? I said as of now yes. Then he stated curtly again, "well then?" In such a cold tone. I was taken aback. I ended reporting to my insurance carrier and they took the report. She was nice in terms of her bedside manner. However, whether due to being busy or whatever the case there is no excuse for the oversight especially given my pregnancy complication from my previous pregnancy.

Dr Thompson cared for me throughout my first pregnancy and I had a great experience. When I got pregnant with my second baby, I already knew I wanted Dr Thompson to be my doctor especially as he had opened up his concierge practice. For starters, Larissa, who works the front is incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. Scheduling any appointment was so easy, communication about information was fast, and she was always empathetic and patient with any questions/concerns. She helped us get scheduled for our first appointment so quick! From our first appointment to our last one, Dr Thompson was incredibly supportive, kind, patient, understanding, empathetic, professional, and helpful. He answered all of our questions and concerns at every single appointment, provided me with so much encouragement, and always made sure to let us know he was available at all times if needed. I unfortunately got COVID during the earlier part of my pregnancy and got so sick. I texted Dr Thompson late in the evening and he called me within minutes to check in with me and made sure I was ok and addressed my concerns I had. It was such a relief to have those answers immediately when you're feeling so sick and worried about your baby. This was the case throughout the rest of my pregnancy; anytime I asked Dr Thompson a question or had a concern, he responded to me quickly giving me peace of mind within hours. When I went into labor and my water broke, Dr Thompson walked us through what to do and supported our decision until I was ready to get to the hospital. We had such a great experience during labor and delivery, Dr Thompson checked in on me and walked me through my progress each time. Right before it was time to push, I had a tough emotional moment and amongst the chaos, Dr Thompson took the time to recognize that and made such a difference reassuring me that I was safe and in charge, and gave me a moment with my husband to make sure I was ready to go. Our perfect beautiful baby boy was safely delivered by Dr Thompson and we couldn't be more grateful for such a safe and healthy experience. He checked in on us twice afterwards to make sure we were doing well and addressed any questions/concerns. I've unfortunately had some breastfeeding issues postpartum but Dr Thompson has been there every step of the way, responding incredibly quickly providing me with the much needed care to get me feeling healthy again. All this to say is that the experience during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum with Dr Thompson is unmatched. You need to have him as your doctor if you're expecting, it'll be the easiest and best decision you'll make for one of the most important moments of your life! We're forever grateful!

Obstetrix completely missed my marginal cord insertion diagnosis at my anatomy scan, contrary to what they claimed themselves of being good at caring for high risk pregnancy. Also obstetrix is quite expensive and the co-pay and out of pocket expense could easily go to thousands depending on the insurance you have. 2. The 2nd part of the review is for my OB Amy Teng. Most of my appointments with her were like 5 minute long, very fast. Fine, I understand that clinics are busy due to the lack of staff. But she was negligent and didn't even check my fundal height after 20 weeks, like most other OBs do for their patients once they reach the 2nd trimester. I had to bring this up to her a few times that my belly was small for my gestational age. She and her nurse initially brushed off my concern. She finally checked my fundal height and then ordered a growth scan. Then indeed we found out the baby is smaller and later confirmed growth restriction (IUGR) in the following scans. After the growth restriction diagnosis, she did nothing except just routine OB visits. No test, no management, no monitoring. After talking to moms in the IUGR group about how they are treated and getting 2nd opinions from other Obs, I switched to another Ob group and got immediate care such as weekly monitoring (NST etc) and a few tests to make sure the baby is doing ok. With the new ob group, I also had the freedom to work with other high risk maternal fetal medicine specialists in the area for ultrasounds etc. I have been so tired in this pregnancy worrying and researching things that an experienced and caring OB and MFM could have easily done and pointed me in the right direction. If I hadn't insisted for fundal height check and follow up growth scans, we might have completely missed the growth restriction diagnosis. This ob lack of basic training and empathy for patients.

He personally returns calls when there's an issue and he makes sure you are seen and heard. Many women have an issue with a male gynecologist, but I've had women doctors be the most dismissive of my concerns. Most recently I asked for extra testing for my own personal peace of mind and he heard me out, not dismissing my fears. For every decision I've had to make, he guided me through it with care and patience. If and when Dr Weber retired, I'll shed a tear, because his style of patient care is extremely rare and he will be sorely missed. Do not think twice about seeing him, he's one of a kind. There's a reason behind all these amazing reviews, it's him. He elevates patient care. Now if I could only find doctors in other fields who were as nice.

Came in with my husband, as soon as the ultrasound was up we knew something was wrong. She said there was no heartbeat and immediately went into recommending a D&C. Our appointment was 5 Min long. I wanted to take a pill and she strongly rec against that and said it looked like a possible molar pregnancy. I asked her about risks of D&C including scarring and her exact words were "for you? There's no risk of that" We scheduled the D&C and she completed it. At the post op she said everything looked fine and that she herself had had a miscarriage and it's only my first one and it'll be okay. After 6weeks of no period (and regular periods my entire life like clockwork) I reached out to her. She said maybe I have pcos and wanted to put me on progesterone and do additional tests. Everything came back normal and she still wanted to put me on progesterone. After going on that, it did not change anything with my period and she continued to say nothing was wrong with the d&c. Months passed, I kept checking with her and she didn't refer me or recommend anything else. My period continued to not come for 6+ months. I did research myself and went to a specialist Reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist who confirmed that I had scarring from the D&C procedure. She did a procedure to remove scar tissue and my period came back but has been light ever since. The specialist said I have permanent damage from the D&C.
