Previously we sat in the balcony, but this event was open seating and we found seats almost in the middle, side to side and just under the balcony, so really good seats position wise. The seats themselves left something to be desired as the seat backs are a bit too reclined for my comfort. The seat cushions themselves were worn and a bit firm as well. Overall it's a good venue and since this was a free concert... well worth the price.

The cesspool odor entering the building was something I didn't expect. Also I found the upkeep on the place pretty bad; dirty floors, peeling paint on handrails. If McAllen is going to charge premium prices for this venue they should keep this place in better shape. Parking management was bad too as a lot just north of it was closed. A rating of "Pooh!" For the venue.

Dancentre prepared me to study under world renowned dance professionals, to study at North East School of the Arts (#8 arts school in the country), and to flourish on my university's dance team. I learned discipline, time-management, commitment, prioritization, teamwork, handling constructive criticism, punctuality, and many other things that have aided me in everyday life as a student and employee. When returning to Dancentre to visit, I always feel welcomed home, and it's amazing to see how much the studio and dancers have grown since I started attending nearly 11 years ago.

It definitely feels like an older theater that could probably use some updates/upgrades. The food we ordered was pretty good. I got the pretzels and hot cheese dip, which was more filling than i expected. The pretzels were soft and hot and a good size portion. I even gave my last one to the boyfriend to finish. He got the chicken quesadilla, which comes in a pizza box that is bigger than it should be. We definitely thought there would be more quesadilla in there than there actually was. But he said it tasted pretty good. We thought it was going to have the reclining seats, which it did not so that was disappointing. But I guess we should have confirmed that first. I also thought you could order the food from your seat, but you do have to get up and order at the counter....and they do deliver it to you. Overall, we probably wouldn't make the drive again, but if you live in the Edinburg area it's a nice treat to have the dinner theater.
