Nancy is the epitome of professional, and very much treats massage as a dialogue between client and massage therapist. She asks for feedback during the massage to help her know where to focus, is very sensitive and responsive to issues that might affect comfort with massage, and explains what she is doing as she proceeds (in ways that are clearly understandable). I plan to start going in on a regular basis, she is that wonderful. HIGHLY recommended.

It's fairly easy to talk with her. On one occasion, Nancy sent me an email confirmation of a next-day appointment. Then, when I showed up at the time in her email, she told me that she'd assumed my appointment was later, so she'd booked an extra-long appointment that extended into my time slot by 20-25 minutes. She offered me two choices: 1) reschedule, which would have meant I'd wasted 40 minutes of car travel, plus arranging my day around the appointment; 2) wait until she completed her full appointment with the person whom she'd booked into my time slot despite her confirmation of my appointment less than 24 hours earlier. I wish she had cut short the mistakenly-booked appointment. However, she did not offer that option. I felt that showed a lack of respect for my time. Nancy did offer a verbal apology and a $10 discount on that day's massage. This kind of scheduling mistake may be unusual for Nancy. I'd had several earlier appointments that proceeded without any problems.

After my deep tissue massage with Maria I had so much relief the next day and the pinched nerve was completely gone within the week. I definitely recommend her to any musician who needs quick relief! I was very thankful for our wonderful conversation though she offered the option of a silent session as well as some tend to prefer that experience. (I had someone years ago and she moved away.). I am so thankful I finally found someone - Mara - who really looks/feels/understands how to see/feel what my body needs. Specifically, and at my request, Mara worked mostly on my calves (I have had chronic calf pain for years) and glutes (recent problems) and two days later, I truly feel like this is the first step toward true recovery. I cannot wait to go back to continue this work with her. (Also, it's really hard to find someone who can give a lot of pressure - and Mara can - in a slow, steady movement. It was truly amazing .) Lastly, she is the loveliest person and made me feel completely comfortable discussing some of my random (and personal) health issues! Thank you, Mara! Prior to the massage, I appreciated her getting to know me a bit more so that she could be in tuned with the places which I felt needed attention. I felt supported in the very calming environment that she has created and really do recommend it to anyone who is interested in massage therapy; Heidi made my first experience very positive and comforting.

After 5+ months without a massage, it was an absolute privilege to be able to make a triumphant return to this routine ritual I had previously taken for granted. What I have always loved about Stephanie's approach is that she is the perfect balance of massage + cupping + breathing and energy work that creates this magical experience unlike any other massage I've had. I also appreciate how Stephanie takes seriously the pre-massage consultation and implements exactly what you need. Sometimes you need a bit more practical massage work to get at a sore muscle. Sometimes you need a real energy release and to just. Relax. And sometimes you don't know what you want, and you just trust Stephanie to take the wheel. It's just always what your soul and body needs. The best way to describe a session with Stephanie is that feeling during the savasana and the teacher comes over and gives you that quick 10 second massage that you swear is the best feeling in the world - except Stephanie's massage lasts 60-90 minutes! Upon leaving, I felt more grounded, relaxed, released than I've felt in a long time. I also really appreciated the amount of care and sanitization measures taken during my massage - before, during, and after. It seemed like Stephanie and I were in the same page on how seriously we have taken our stay at home and social distancing measures, so I felt completely safe during my appointment. Can't wait to return back for another session soon, and many more after that!

I felt pretty great from other massage therapists in the area, but I feel fantastic when I'm done with Emily. She was able to hone in on bad spots in my shoulder's nerve causing some numbness in my fingers, help one of my ribs go back to the right place, and almost put me to sleep when she massaged my head and neck. I've lived in Boston for 9 years and have tried 9 different masseuses - I've had bad massages, and I've had pretty good ones, but I haven't had one that was like, oh man, I need to repeat that. But... I think I finally found my masseuse guys. She gave me the best massage I've had in YEARS. Why would going deep in a particular area of my shoulder cause my left foot to tingle? Why is the slight lower back pain I've had for months now gone after she fixed a weird alignment thing in my right hip I didn't even realize was there, but that she felt? Why is it 3 days later and I still have that buttery calm post-massage feeling (I showered, I promise, so it's not that!)? She uses yummy smelling natural stuff like coconut oil and shea butter with essential oils - no mystery chemical smells while the massage is going on. Her space in Arlington is relaxed and clean and homey. I've mostly gone to more spa-like environments for massages and wasn't sure what this would be like, but I can say the coziness and warm lighting was preferable! All that said, she could move her practice to the #1 bus stop in Central Square and I'd probably still go see her. That's how good she is. She is a truly special talent in this field and I'll be going back as often as my wallet allows it :)
