I have used this shop to hem pants for many years. The price was reasonable and the workmanship good. Recently took 5 tee shirts to be hemmed. Two were cotton, 3 athletic material. I was charged $20 each! They came back with skipped stitches, wavering stitch lines and puckering. 4 of the shirts were split open at the side seam lines. I took them back and blame was laid on the sewing machine. The shirts were resewn at the side seams, too late to sew hems properly. Will not return. PS Miss Pris in Surfside offers quality sewing and is less expensive. read more

I have been bringing pants to be shortened to Debbie's for nearly 15 years. They have had sewers change over the years. Debbie herself (Vietnamese) now has serious health issues, so a couple of others have taken over for her. She was the best, but now there is a new young man, and an Italian woman who has been there for at least ten years. Stay FAR away from this godawful place!! I never review things, but this place was so terrible I had to warn other potential customers. The story: I brought my jeans here last week to have them patched. I was told they would be ready by Thursday at 2. When I went to pick them up Friday afternoon (one day AFTER I had been told they'd be finished!!), they had not been touched yet and were not ready for pick up. I nicely told Debbie that I couldn't come back to get them because I did not have time (I'd made the time to go and get them already, when they were supposed to be finished), and so could I have them for free or a discount. Well, apparently that was the WRONG thing to say because she got totally passive-aggressive and became a total B*TCH! She became a totally different person, yelling at me right then and gthere, "Well then, customers who pick up late should be charged extra, NO?" And sardonically telling me she just "wanted to understand" as she mocked me for asking for $ off. Then she flung some things around and began to sew my pants right there in front of me, but looking at ME the whole time and NOT DOWN AT HER SEWING MACHINE or MY PANTS, which she was f-ing up!! She half patched them, threw them at me, and said "Here. They are FREE." When I mentioned that they were not complete, she said too bad, that's all I have time for. Honestly, to this point, I'd been nothing but nice -- even though it was not cool that my pants weren't ready. WELL once she did THAT, I was ANGRY. What a great way to treat your customers, eh? Five stars. HA! I told her that, and let her know I would be SURE to review her @ss online and to be sure to look for it. Well, Debbie, here it is. Not only is Debbie's service sub-par, but Debbie herself is a raving b*tch who can't even get your clothes back to you when promised. And watch out: if you bring that up to her, she'll retaliate. I brought my beautiful evening gown to Debbie's to be hemmed. The overlayer is sheer and curved in the front. With such delicate material, I could just hope for the best. She said it would be ready in a week. I called ahead of time on the day of pickup and they told me it was ready. I tried it on right there and the dress was perfect. Quality was good, timeframe was good, price was good. What more could I ask for? read more

I took my daughters prom dress to her and asked to be hemmed and taken in on sides. First of all the alterations cost more than the dress and then when I called back to ask to take it in more she was going to charge me more money and got upset with me that I asked and said it wasn't her fault. It's bad enough you can barely understand her. Will never go there again or recommend her to anyone, sorry. read more
