At…read morethe time, I put aside my own need for counseling, and began therapeutic sessions for our kids. I can not stress ENOUGH the importance of seeking the BEST when it comes to your kids. Therapeutic art worked wonders, and weekly sessions where the kids could openly discuss their fears, sadness, disappointment. Kids take things much more to heart than we think. Best to get them the support they need WHEN they need it, and not working through pain 10, 15, 20 years later. Deni is amazing. I highly recommend her services. She is kind, gentle, and an absolute ADVOCATE for children.

I was surprised how much fun my little girls (ages 8 and 11) had and we all really enjoyed the experience. My 8 year old specifically stated, "This was the best day ever. It felt good to destroy things." It was definitely a unique and thrilling experience. The experience was not just about destruction. The lovely couple that own the place ensure you are #1 safe from injury during the process, #2 following COVID precautions, and #3 having fun. Before you know it, they are subtly encouraging you to RELEASE those feelings you may have bottled up inside (anger, frustration, anxiety, etc.) with each swing you take. To finish off your experience, the lovely couple offer a counseling session (which you can accept or decline WITHOUT any pressure) and they invite you to participate in a mindfulness exercise to turn down the heightened adrenaline levels you have pumping through your body afterwards. If you have ever thought about experiencing a smash room, I encourage you to give the Release Room a try. It is easy to book online.

5 stars! I've been…read moreseeing Shevonne Radich for a little over a year now. I believe counseling/therapy is one of the best mental and emotional investments a person can make for themselves. It's 100% worth the money if you find the right fit and Shevonne is the right fit for me. Looking at anyone from the outside, and from small talk, it's difficult to say how well they are doing inside (think Robin Williams). When I started seeing Shevonne, I was having a lot of difficulty adjusting to some very big life changes at the time. Now a year of seeing her later, I have referred her to friends, relatives, couples, anyone that I know that needs someone to give a non judgemental ear, advice, sounding board and someone to just let it all out to because I believe in the power of letting out what's going on inside. Be ready for an unbiased perspective. She has 20 years experience and I love the EMDR technique she uses. It's worth asking her what that is and it's definitely worth a try for yourself. Deep-seated hurts from childhood can endure far into adulthood. Healing from wounds, offenses from the far past or recent is so essential to living a happy & whole life. She takes all kinds of insurance, you just have to ask her to check her biller & which ones she takes. Checking this is worth it and can make a monetary difference of paying $100/hr or $15/hr. Parking is usually available & location is near Smart & Final/the post office in Elk Grove. The only and main downside is that she is so busy, it may be difficult to get an appointment with her. She's only 1 person, so sometimes appointments may be weeks out. Sometimes she may not even get back to you right away via text which is how I normally make my appointments. But, it's worth it to keep trying until a slot is open. I normally book an appointment before I leave her office. I highly suggest Shevonne Radich for your therapy/counseling needs.

I have had the great pleasure of meeting Joy but also working with her over the course of 12 weeks…read more Now before I actually get into this review, I want to throw out a few disclaimers...Joy does NOT have a magic wand that will magically make your issues go away. Joy does NOT have the ability to do your work for you and lastly Joy does NOT by any means sell herself short on the services that she provides. Joy, you are an absolute god send. Seriously.... I have been thru various counseling all of my life but that didn't resolve my issues nor did it really give me the tools needed to actually resolve them. So since I had tried that previously and pretty much got the same result, I knew I had to try something different. So, what did I do? I went to my trusty yelp and reached out and received several responses. I had a few phone interviews because I needed to find the right person to help me thru some heavy stuff. I liked Joy right off the bat. You can simply tell by the tone in her voice that she is an angel. I signed up for 6 sessions with Joy...and after my 6th session, I signed up for 6 more. And I threw Joy some crazy challenges (nothing in my life has EVER been easy)....there were issues that she flat out told me she couldn't do anything about (I appreciate the honestly more than you know) and there were some issues where I really feel like I challenged her but guess what? SHE NEVER GAVE UP ON ME. SHE NEVER TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION (again she doesn't have a magic wand). Instead what I received was far far greater than any gift...Joy gave me the tools I needed to see where my deficiencies came from and also gave me some positive insight as to how to fix the behaviors and this is something I now work on EVERY SINGLE DAY and it's made me a better person. So if you feel like you are stuck, and don't know where to go, and you have tried traditional methods (and they haven't really worked) I would seriously urge you to give Joy a call...set up and appointment and more importantly work on your (O&*%(Q*&)%(. Joy, thank you again for everything. I'll be back after tax season and I've already started a list of things to work on when I return to your place...oh and Mr. Meowghee says hello!
