They estimated it would take their "4-hour package" and wanted to set a time to install. I asked about approximately how much it would cost and them said they couldn't tell me until they saw the job. I admit it: I was drawn to her table by a desire to swipe an Ace Handyman beer koozie. But then the representative (a mom, there with her gymnast daughter) and I talked about the challenges a 68 year old faces when trying to stay in his home. The plumbing I can't do because I'm not flexy enough to work under the sink. The rotted exterior wood that should be replaced by a better carpenter than me. The electrical work I'm not qualified to try in the first place. The rep convinced me that Ace Handyman can help. I'm gonna give 'em a try. If their people are as sharp as her, I'll be able to stay in my home longer than I would otherwise.

I suspect that this company has lucrative long-term accounts and does not really care about anyone new. My advice? Consider another provider if you are a new resident in Grand Traverse County.
