I came in here on a whim today because I needed a new nose hoop…read more A few years ago I stopped here and walked right back out because the guy at the counter had awful customer service skills and it seemed dingy in there. Apparently they are under new ownership because my experience today was a 180 positive! The minute I walked in, I could smell the reassuring scent of antiseptic, a huge plus. The man at the counter was on the phone, but politely told us he would be with us in a moment. I looked at a few of the artists' albums and was very impressed with the work I saw. As it turned out, the man helping us goes by Dr. Roach and was the artist whose work I'd looked at. I was impressed and told him as much! Doc Roach took the time to help me find the best hoop that was most similar to the one had in. The price of the jewelry spoke my language ($10) so I was game! I asked him if he would be able to replace it for me and he willingly obliged. Although it took more time than I am sure he had that day, Dr. Roach put the new hoop in for me. I took notice that he was meticulous about sterilizing everything he used on me. I was able to see him open all of his tools from their sterile packaging. He was patient and focused on what he was doing with little small talk other than to explain what he was doing while replacing the hoop! He was gentle handed so I had little pain and no bleeding, even when he had to use a taper to enlarge the hole for my new gauge. He and his staff wear scrubs and of course gloves while working with clients. Doc Roach was patient with my questions! When I asked how long he had been tattooing for, he let me know that he has been tattoing for 20 years! I have a photo in mind that I may want as a tattoo and he walked me through basic pricing for it! I will definitely be returning for future work!

Before I came to the appointment he explained what had been done wrong the first time and showed me a drawing of how he would improve it. He booked me for a two hour appointment and because of his thorough and painstaking work he actually spent closer to three hours on it to do it right. After a week it has healed nicely and the colors are vibrant. With a lifetime free touch up guarantee I couldn't be more thrilled. I'll be getting my next one here!

In the…read moreweeks leading up to my appointment, I, personally, played around on the internet to see if I could come up with a design that I liked, as I'm a visual person and wanted to see it in front of me. However, I just couldn't tell a computer program what I was envisioning in my head. I walked into the studio and saw the design Laura had drawn up and had a light bulb moment! Her design was EXACTLY what I had wanted...I just didn't know it until I saw it! We discussed placement options and the stencil she had ready to go was the perfect size for where we decided it was going. Laura answered all of my questions and we had a nice balance of chit chat and silence during my session. Her space is GORGEOUS and welcoming, overlooking the river and a small park. My piece was done in about an hour and aftercare was explained verbally and I was given a handout. I told her I was sensitive to adhesive and she suggested an alternative form of wrapping that would protect both my skin and the tattoo. Now that it is summer, I intentionally wear tank tops all the time to show off the beautiful artwork that means so much to me! This is my third tattoo by just as many artists and I will 100% be going back to Laura for my future ink!

For TLDR go to bottom of the review…read more I went to Til Death originally when they had Cooper as the artist. I had planned for two matching tattoos copying my uncle's old navy tattoo on me and getting it "revitalized" and finished for my uncle. We were initially quoted $50 for the draw up and $500 for both. Understanding that the price may vary after the draw up I waited till I had some funds saved up. I then called in late August to set up the draw up. I was informed that Cooper was fired. After checking reviews, I was glad to hear it as I heard about the staph issues. I was introduced to Mike, (now running From Hell n Back Tattoos). Told him about the situation and he quoted me $400 which was before the draw up. Again, understanding that the price was going to change I scheduled a time to come in for the draw up. When I arrived for the draw up Mike was not there due to illness or something. Instead of calling me to inform me of this they waited until my uncle, and I arrived and then handed us over to Cainen, a different artist. Now working with Cainen, we had the draw up done and I mentioned, since he was the one here and helping with the draw up that I was going to have him do the tattoos. I said I wanted a quote for both tattoos fully done with color several times to make sure they heard me. I was worried i would come off as irritating but didn't want any more mix ups. After the Draw up was finished he Quoted me $500 for both tattoos fully done with color. I set the appointment for 8-29-2024 and placed my $50 deposit. Day of the appointment Mike was back, and I was handed back to Mike. I was told that he was told the quote was for $650 for both including color. I corrected him and said I was Quoted $500 for both finished with color. After getting to see the draw up as the apprentice never sent it to him to see prior to the appointment he mentioned that he would work with me but there was no way the boss would let him do the work for the two tattoos for under $1000. I was about to walk out but this is something I wanted to get done before my uncle passed away, so I went ahead with it. Cainen offered to fix one tattoo I had done from Cooper at till death for free by just adding some stippling while I waited. My uncle and I finished the first day of the process each getting the first half of the tattoo done. I called the next day to schedule the second half and found that they fired mike. After talking with the owners that day both on the phone and in person I was informed that Til Death would not honor the work as the tattoo artists are independent contractors and they would not either A.) have another artist work for free or B.) eat the cost to pay their artist, since they had half my $1000, to finish the tattoo. At most they would pay be $50 to go to Fon Du Lac if Mike was willing to finish the work. I contacted Mike. He said he honors his work and as soon as he got his shop up, he would finish the work no problem. His Gran opening is 09-29-2024 and he has already been in contact with me to get it finished. I cannot recommend Til death due to a lack of professionalism and unwillingness to make right a situation that was out of a customer's hands. The influx of ever-changing artists seems to be an issue. TLDR: I found Til Death Tattoos to be unprofessional and unreliable. I found that the Artist Cainen does good work however, the consistent changing of artists may lead you to being left with a tattoo half-finished even though you paid the full price to Til Death for a full tattoo. The form you are required to sign makes it very difficult if not impossible to get your money back and so they will keep your money and not finish your tattoo. The refuse to take responsibility and leave the customer holding the bag. I recommend ANY other tattoo parlor than Til Death.
