THE FIRST THREE PHOTOS I POSTED ARE INCORRECT BUT HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DELETE THEM.
Cafe Postwaegel is a very understated, eclectic eetcafe with emphasis on character and quality food.
This is an entirely dutch affair as English is nowhere to be found on the menu or anyplace else. Which right there tells you who the clientele is.
We have found the food to be inventive and delicious. Our tomato soup contained:
Meatballs
Pulled pork
Macaroni
And other odd bits of food we could not tell. It was more a stew than soup but, we didn't care.
It was wonderful.
The bitterballen was an improvement over the ubiquitous and often thoughtlessly prepared staple found elsewhere. Ours included, cheese, pork and a hot dog....interesting.
On a previous encounter Rabbit Maastricht meant covered in chocolate sauce.....doubly interesting.
Cafe Postwaegel allows the diner to enjoy the meal without a rush. The sever attends without being intrusive. This is an excellent choice for dinner where company and conversation is as important at the meal itself.
We will return. read more
