He was my father's dentist as well as is currently my uncle's, cousin's, family friends, etc., and all of our smiles are proof of his expertise. Due to him, when I went away for school upstate - I had such a trust in dentists. Unfortunately, this resulted in my having unnecessary work done by a zealous dentist that was primarily interested in the $$. Then, I went to another dentist who fixed the prior dentists work, but then left me with a crown that has a gap in it (that he said was normal) that has hurt for two years, and has turned into a lot of scar tissue in my gums. Of course Dr. Boukas was disappointed to see that this had been done, but c'est la vie. Dr. Boukas is, and always has been very thorough in his diagnoses. He explains what has happened, why it has happened, what needs to be done, and the care afterward. My significant other (who refused to go to the other dentist upstate for a cleaning after my experience) several months back ended up with a gum infection due to plaque (yuck). It was his first time seeing Dr. Boukas, and Mr. Picky Pants was thoroughly impressed with him, his diagnosis, treatment plan, and let's just get you right attitude. He was fixed in two visits; One to clean out the infection, and the second, for a more thorough cleaning frankly. So, you can take his unbiased opinion as well. To anyone that is looking for the best dentist, with both current knowledge, and techniques, as well as old school experience, Dr. Boukas is your man. He may be no frills, but is clean, attentive, knowledgeable, and that should be exactly what you are looking for. To boot, he was always great with me as a kid, and my lack of cavities are proof. I didn't have my first cavity until I went upstate for college... So, he is child/kid friendly, and just knows his craft very, very well. He's as highly I can recommend, and I will never go to another dentist as long as he is around. Dr. Boukas is the best. Just an FYI - he also practices in Manhasset during the week if need be.

Kohn & Kollander Dental, PLLC - EXCELLENT DENTAL FIRM!!!…read more Dr. Alan B. Kohn and his team at Kohn & Kollander Dental, PLLC, especially his associate Dr. Mordechai M. Eisenberger and his dental hygienist "Masha" (Maria Dolgonos), have been outstanding dental professionals in handling my numerous, serious dental issues for almost a decade. Dr. Kohn and his team have helped me save and keep most of my own teeth via a combination of laser-assisted deep cleaning, coordination with Dr. Dwight Hershman, a superb oral surgeon who installed several dental implants, and ongoing dental maintenance, which includes water flossing, brushing, rinsing/gargling with salt water, and regular periodic cleanings. Dr. Kohn and his team are caring, compassionate, and provided me with the comfort and support that I really needed. Dr. Kohn and his team listened to my questions, provided explanations in simple, understandable, and practical terms, kept me updated regularly regarding progress, and were always honest and upfront in managing my expectations. They have gone the extra mile, above and beyond for me every time! Dr. Kohn's dedicated support staff have been very helpful in facilitating the process and were generous with their time, empathy, and guidance. Dr. Kohn even offers installment payment plans to help in time of need. This wonderful dental firm, with all the comfort of a small firm, also has a "large firm" feel by being so well organized and highly efficient. They always responded right away to my phone calls. I have been a repeat client for nearly a decade. It is my pleasure to recommend Kohn & Kollander PLLC as the best choice to anyone looking for a great dental firm. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Kohn and his team for giving me my smile back! :)

I am not as conscientious as I should be in taking care of my teeth, so I give Alan and the hygienist Masha full credit for ingeniously and painstakingly saving many a tooth of mine from extraction. Despite all their good work, if a root canal is ever needed, I go see Alan's colleague Dr. Brian Greenspan and, in the rare instance when an extraction is necessary, I go see another of Alan's colleagues, Dr. Gabriel Hershman.
