This time I took a banana smoothie and some sausage bread :). Quite simple, isn't it? Sometimes I miss the variety of some species, but I like the refreshment of the little breads. The service is very fast to takeaway and to hurry your train. Also for vegetarian people there is a lot of choice. You have the restaurant and express which is one the LaPlace. They have delicious healthy smoothies, salads, sandwiches, pizza and little snacks. But also cold drinks, cappucino and tea are part of the company. The personnel is very friendly and helpfull. If you want to bake your egg, they are prepared to do that for you :). Most of the visitors are staff from Schiphol, tourists, daily travel users or business people who are in conversation. Chargers are avaiable at the tabels for charging your phone or laptop.

It looks like a normal restaurant, but it's more like the Van Dobben style, ready-to-fry, stuff whatever you can into a plain limp bun kind of place. So I'm going to review based on that. Actually, there isn't more to review other than that! You walk into the place, go to the counter, decide what fried kaassouffle, kroket, ::insert fried food item here:: that you want put between the most normal bun you've ever seen in your life. Then you pay your 3 EUR (make sure NOT to pay for others), sit down, and you'll get your ongezonde sammies. Do I like this?! Hellz no. But if I'm with my Dutch co-workers and have no other choice, I will of course comply and fill my belly with... well... it's best not to know what Dutch krokets are made of. So, I feel bad for giving it two stars because the food isn't INedible... it's just.... well... really really Dutch. But the fact that our Dutch canteen at work is better, isn't a good sign at all! A little open air market with different stations is cool and disperses a long wait in line: sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and various hot plates. Self explanatory by the above station categories, but the hot plates are interesting with Dutch thrown in front of all. Dutch Hamburger, Dutch fish croquettes, Dutch BBQ Sausages to name a few. Also fascinating is the Bacon, Potato, and Sour Cream pizza. Mmmmm...mmmmm! Heineken on top, oh yeah! I got the Dutch BBQ Sausages and Fries ($9.95 EU, $12.20 USD). 2 HUGE sausages, very finely ground, great texture, caramelized onions atop -- they were really terrific. With fresh fries to boot, this was one darn good airport meal. (4.5 stars) Recommend.

The bread was not noteworthy either. The strawberry yogurt drink was forgettable. All I know is that I should have picked a different drink from the selection. Besides the drink, it wasn't disappointing. Just don't expect gourmet food. :-) An aside: the pizzas looked like they were made using pre-made pizza base available in the supermarket aisles. I certainly wouldn't eat those.
