I guess the main reason I came here was because I was looking for a place to grab something to eat and to describe the town as packed is pretty much an understatement. Actually, it was quite disappointing that I didn't end up checking out any other places. Still, this place was quite nice, and the chips were pretty cool as well. Oh, and the border between Belgium and the Netherlands sort of runs just along the edge of this shop, but that has something to do with the town as opposed to where the shop is located.

After being behind basically everyone else the Dutch have finally woken up to the specialty coffee…read moretrend. That has of course mainly hit Amsterdam and Rotterdam but even in a small town like Tilburg now have a few places taking a go at it. They have a nice space with a lot of seating so easy to find a spot. Free wifi available so a lot of people sitting with computers but only a few of the tables have any power available so choose wisely if you want to be able to charge phone or computer. They offer a variety of cafe style dishes (salads and sandwiches) as well as pastries. That was however not my reason for visiting as I was there for coffee. I sampled a good espresso and a very good flat white. Both made with beans from Antwerp's Caffenation and I also tried the hand-brewed V60. Made from nice Kenyan beans also from Caffenation but the execution was lacking so over-extracted. Still would try to order again and ask them to use Aeropress instead. This place is great to be in Tilburg, in a bigger city it may not stand out as such but here it really is the best place to come for coffee.
