Our favorite restaurant in Belgium, which is lucky, because it's within walking distance of our home. It's a family place, run by Rudi de Win, his wife and son, but upholds a high standard of cuisine, presentation and service. The menu features some of the best of Belgian standards as well as changing seasonal and market-driven items. I've had several Belgians tell me it's the best place to get mussels in season, but I usually go with whatever the market special is.
The owners have had to put up with many inconveniences over the last year due to endless construction on Mechlesesteenweg, and I give them a lot of credit for hanging in. They've earned the right for you to come a little out of your way to reward their persistence and enjoy their food.
You can drop in on weeknights, but I highly recommend calling for reservations on Fridays and Saturdays. I look forward to many more meals here. read more
