Getting a rubber sole put on a $150 pair of boots cost me 50 euros, so it was cheaper than buying a new pair of boots, but I wouldn't do it if I didn't really love the shoes already. Their work is good, and it typically takes close to a week to get things back. There is also a little boutique of new shoes next to the repair desk if you want to throw in the towel with your old faithful shoes that saw you through so much until they finally broke down, giving the best years of their lives for you, for something newer and shinier with pure unscuffed soles. You need to bring €10 with you for each load. €7 for the washer (you get a token via a machine) and €3 for the dryer. The soap and softener are included. We met many friendly Americans there and swapped travel stories while we waited. We grabbed a delicious burger from Oh My Bun a few doors up while we waited. We don't stray far while we waited but there was a great feeling of camaraderie with many ppl from different countries. We looked out for each other. We were very happy with our clean clothes!!
