Nice restaurant in the centre of abcoude, next to the gein river. On a saturday we found that nearly all tables were reserved. When we finally got the food, we understood why. I had a great salmon salad and chips. Portions were generous, and i was not able to finish all. What i liked: - great food - friendly staff Pity this place is not closer to home. read more

One of my favorite things to do on a dry and sunny day is to make a bike tour. Biking from my house near the Amstel in Amsterdam I try to avoid traffic lights as much as possible which means I have to go South! Direction Diemen, Driemond, Weesp, Abcoude, Waver, Nessersluis, Ouderkerk. There is no better place to sop for an espresso than this café in Abcoude. They are always open, at least it seems to be so, the staff is great, they all work hard, and the apple pie is home made and super. Great food and a very mature atmosphere for friends, family and yet open to kids. Everything we ordered was great. Razor clams, ravioli with blue cheese, spaghetti, pumpkin salad, chicken satay and several orders of fries. We sat next to a small table just for children which made a nice place for the children. Our server was extremely nice and she was very attentive. Everyone in our party were in agreement that this would be a great place to go to again. read more
