The gentleman who operates this location is very knowledgable, kind, and helpful. Despite never having the Argentinian "Spectator Selections" as recommended in "Wine Spectator" Buying Guide, I have purchased some gorgeous Malbecs produced in Argentina with big, dense, lavish spiced flavors, and lingering rich finishes. This shop also has savory and svelte Cabernets, Merlots, Syrahs, and sauvignon blancs from Argentina. They sell some exceptional quality wines from the soil of Mendoza that are not exported. (It is, after all, Argentina!) We arrived around 7:45, a party of five, and they took us in without reservation for a tasting. We were provided with two wine flight options, one a diverse tangle of colors and varietals, the other a steady diet of Malbec and Malbec blends. The flights were accompanied by cheese boards and water, and we also had a tour with Frederico in the cellar. Wow! We enjoyed the enthusiasm and knowledge of these two gentlemen during the tasting, and they allowed us to have wonderful conversation around the wine without losing the opportunity for socializing with the group we had brought. We bought several bottles and they packed them for travel at no extra charge. They also pointed us in the direction of another restaurant 100 meters up the avenue for the best skirt steak of my life! The prices for the tasting in such a warm and inviting shop was beyond fair! Cannot recommend this wine shop any more highly.
