Came back again this year for another Pink Floyd massage and skipped the facial. I wanted to book with Christina as that is who I had last year and she was amazing. I ended up going with first available and got Brittany. I want to preface this and say Brittany was great, the service itself was great. However, the whole point of a 2-hour Pink Floyd massage experience is to TRULY experience it. I was SO looking forward to completely tuning out as I have had a very stressful and exhausting month. And unfortunately that did not happen. I would start to slip away into a beautiful, comatose state and then be brought back to reality because Brittany turned down the music a smidge, or she would ask if I wanted another sip of my champagne, or if a certain area hurt to touch, or if the pressure was too much, or if I needed another blanket because I was too cold. I get it, I truly do. And I appreciate her for trying to ensure that I had the best experience. But I wanted to float mindlessly in a state of bliss for two hours. Forget who I was and just let my brain stfu and take a small break. Instead I think I got maybe 20-30 uninterrupted minutes max. After about the second or third interruption, I stopped trying to float away and instead let my mind do what it does best, keep running endlessly. I didnt get quite the comfortably numb experience I wanted, but at least I was able to think about how I could effectively restructure my business in Q1 of 2025. Again, nothing against Brittany herself. It just wasn't a match. read more

Was lily walkable from the cruise terminal and availability on the day we were there. Good massages.

Brought my boyfriend here for our 3 year anniversary. It was truly phenomenal. We did a couples escape and our masseuses were so attentive, kind, and listened to what we needed. I called to book an appointment last minute, and although they were fully booked, D found someone who wasn't working that day and came in herself to do the massages. So kind I will definitely be back when I'm in San Diego read more

Best massage I've had in a looooong time. Chelsea knew just how to work my stiff neck and 60 minutes massage was way too short! Will be back soon. read more

If you hate cutie patooties and great massages go somewhere else! Chelsea is the perfect balance of friendly giggle fest right before and then SUPER calming and quiet during the massage. I just tried the newest treatment at Dcompress, Ashiatsu. What an incredible experience! This is a deep tissue massage performed by D, the owner of the studio, using her feet instead of her hands. It is an incredibly effective technique that produces an incredible feeling that covers a wider surface area of the body at one time providing you with a truly relaxing deep tissue massage. The room is set up to be incredibly comfortable with a soft cushioned table. You are able to pick the music of your choice and then the magic happens. She was able to work on my problem areas in a more effective way than traditional massage techniques. I left feeling great and invigorated. I can't wait to try it again. read more

I've been traveling for work for two weeks straight. I had twisted my ankle and this lead to significant SI joint pain. The end of my work journey was to be in San Diego with my family. That meant lots of walking and hiking. I was in serious pain. I booked Dcompress for 90 min and the therapist was very thorough in finding out was wrong. This was a ver therapeutic massage. 4 days later and I've been walking and hiking all week. read more

Long overdue and absolutely life-changing! I had been dealing with intense pain from travel and work, to the point where I couldn't even get out of bed in the morning without help--and a few tears. After two weeks of this, I knew I needed relief, and I'm so glad I found this place. Elijah gave me the best massage I've ever had. He took the time to really focus on my problem areas and consistently checked in on the pressure to make sure it was just right. It was intense in the best way possible--exactly what I needed. I walked out feeling like a new person, and I am forever grateful. read more

Stopped in for a massage for my birthday, I got a 60 minute massage by Nicole! She was amazing! Great pressure, professional, she even has an adorable sign that said happy birthday and a cute bowl of chocolates for me. I also must add it was a CBD massage so everything smelt so great. The table was warmed perfectly before I laid down. The price was great. Whenever I'm in San Diego again I will for sure see if she has an opening! read more

If you are in need of a relaxing and effective prenatal massage, book with Christina! It felt like she had six hands. The pressure was perfectly firm, she hit all of my problem areas and her technique felt like a dream to my aching lower back. They use a side lying position for prenatal and it was very comfortable and supportive with a belly! I just wish we lived in San Diego. I would definitely book with her again and again! read more

I've been going to DCompress for years. As a working stylist for over 30 years, I have chronic neck and back issues. Massage is one of three interventions that help me function and one that I could not live without. Kala, my massage therapist, is fantastic, and so is the owner, D. For those who live and work downtown, DCompress is convenient, friendly, and professionally run. It's a pleasure to support this small business. read more

I love this place. It's truly an oasis! I started coming a few months prior to Covid & was ecstatic when they re-opened. I love the ambiance that makes you feel special when you walk in. Everyone is wam & welcoming. They've done an amazing job operating in the midst of Covid. They make you feel totally safe! They do a pre-appointment health screening, take your temperature, added air filters in the rooms, and the therapist wears a mask. They added a little sink when you walk in where you can wash your hands. Everything is clean and well organized. They allow a lot of time between clients to keep distance and so you can go over what's going on with you so they can best help you. I never feel rushed. Angela is amazing! She is super strong! She very responsive and so good at adjusting the pressure whether you want it strong or need her to go lighter. Grateful for this sweet little place that has become my self care haven. read more

For anyone who has read my last two reviews, I felt the need to write an update. After my last review, D, the business owner reached out to me. Through our interactions it became clear she deeply cares for the well-being of her clients, training and development of her staff, and overall success of her business. She expressed genuine concern for me and also sought details to help ensure the same experience doesn't happen again. read more

Great place to relax and destress. My therapist was great and had me feeling better at the end.

Just a quick note on how my monthly visits to Dcompress Downtown have changed my life. Many decades ago, as a teen, I held a job that abused my back. It didn't bother me until I got older, but then it *really* bothered me. Lifting something heavy (or sneezing) would leave me in agony for a week. This morning, the treatments I've received at the hands of D and Kala allowed me to rotate the tires on my Jeep, a feat that would have been literally impossible before I became a client (dare I say friend?) of the delightful people at Dcompress Downtown. I think they might be angels, but I have no conclusive proof of that. :-D read more

Best massage experience bar none! My girlfriend and I got a couples massage for our anniversary today and both staff members were knowledgeable and friendly and the room environment was relaxing and comfortable. I was treated to a 90 min massage for my birthday and was matched with Christina as my therapist. Before I went into my massage, I had a form to fill out and was given a card to select what music I would prefer to listen to. I loved having the choice of rock, new age, Pink Floyd, etc., but I went for the classic spa music. After all the paperwork was squared away, I was led into my room and we went over any concerns I had and specific parts of my body I needed worked on. She really took the time to listen. All in all, it was a great massage. My favorite part was her neck and head work at the end. I wish I could have 90 minutes of just that! I will probably be back for another massage when I get a chance. I know they send out great email deals, so be on the lookout for those! read more

I visited Dcompress when I was in San Diego six years ago and decided to go again on my next visit. Quiet and calm location both inside and out. Was able to get in on short notice. Because it was Tuesday, I got $20 off, which was a nice surprise and coincidence. I saw Kelly, who used the right amount of pressure (a lot). Left relaxed and ready to continue my vacation in San Diego. read more

This was my first time at Dcompress and they did such a great job. My husband booked us a couple's message for 90 minutes. The ladies did a great job of listening to our requests and suggestions. They started on time and also ended on time. They didn't rush us on getting dress at all. The place is very clean and comfy. They also let us pick 3 of own oils. I picked lavender, sage and orange oils. They also let us pick our music so we didn't have to listen to spa music the whole 90 minutes. We picked R&B which was different and very comforting since we love R&B. I would recommend this place and we go again. read more

I went for my first massage post pandemic a week ago at DCompress.... what a treat!!! Their COVID protocols make you feel very safe. I had to fill out surveys/questionnaires before arriving, and masks are required when you enter their facility. My masseuse was Angela, and she was awesome. She took the time to understand the areas I wanted her to focus on, and asked me how I was doing throughout the treatment. I want to go back to DCompress asap, and will refer others to them as well. read more

I used Yelp to find a massage near to my hotel downtown San Diego. After reading some great reviews of Dcompress, I called them and made a same day appointment with Sabrina for a 90 minute massage that evening. When I got there, I was greeted warmly by Sabrina and everything about my experience couldn't have gone better than my expectations. She took great care to understand my needs and what exactly I was looking for based on my current health situation. She asked a lot of great questions about focus areas, pressure, etc. She escorted me to a nice room and asked what music I'd like to listen to. Well, typically in the Midwest, I'm accustomed to the rote "Spa tracks" playing over and over again, so hadn't even given any thought to music. She said she had Spotify that we could put on, so I thought, "well, Tom Petty just passed away, so that might be perfect". So we put the "This is Tom Petty" playlist on and away we went. Sabrina gave me a fantastic massage, helping to ease the pain of some areas I've had trouble with lately and definitely get exacerbated by air travel. The music was nostalgic, but perfect for the mood of the day, (was the day after the Las Vegas shooting). We commiserated about Tom Petty and the tragedy in Vegas, and just overall had a great experience. I definitely recommend Dcompress and Sabrina to any weary travelers or locals that just need to get away from everything for 90 minutes. read more
