DiMarco Masonry - Stone Chimney restoration

Finding a good mason takes time and you also need the patience when they are in high demand. Such…read moreis the case with my experience with DiMarco masonry. I was in dire need of pointing for my home and also to address water issues coming off my solid cement staircase. Jim DiMarco came to my home late last year and went over what could be done to help me. He recommended putting in a metal drain below the "lip" of the staircase to reduce run off. When it comes to pointing, the business just doesn't fill in the gaps. Instead they dig out the old cement and insure fresh cement to insure a solid seal. Such was the plan given to me last fall and reflected on my estimate. At that time I was told my project would be done sometime this year. DiMarco masonry called me a day ahead of time to let me know what day and time they would be out and he and his assistant arrived promptly at the scheduled time. I checked in on the work here and there and saw that the work was very thorough and they cleaned up appropriately. Jim DiMarco showed me the metal lip he placed on my concrete block and hopefully it should keep excess water from running down my staircase and onto my newly finished bricks. If I had an issue at any time I was free to call him. I was very pleased with his services and am glad I could find a mason to do a quality job. This business is much in demand at the current time so if you are willing to wait on your project then I highly recommend their services.

He got us an estimate, then on the schedule and contacted us when he would be starting the work. We had a chimney fully repointed, a new crown poured and repointing of a few areas around the house. He and his team were extremely respectful of our property and felt like they treated it as their own. They were on time and extremely efficient throughout doing the work. You can tell Jim and the guys truly care about the work they provide. I would recommend Jim and his team to anyone looking for masonry work. 100% will use them in the future if ever needed.

I don't live in Pgh. but my 95 year old aunt does. Her lawn care guy didn't inform her that he quit…read moredoing yard care. She called him and left messages saying she was ready for him to start this year. She kept waiting for weeks for him to show up. He never did. My aunt asked me to find someone to cut her grass because it was extremely high. I called two businesses and left messages. Only one called back. They said they would be there the next day. They never showed up. After a number of calls, they finally called back and said they would be there first thing the next day. Again they never showed up and never called. My aunt was getting very depressed because the yard that she took pride in looked so bad. I called MLS and explained the situation and how depressed my 95 year old aunt was because of her sad looking lawn. This was on a Tuesday morning and they said because of all the rain they had recently, they were a little behind but they would be there by the end of the week. Told the OK and I would let my aunt know. MLS called me twenty minutes later and said they would take care of her lawn that day. Kellen and his crew showed up about 1:00 PM and took care of the lawn. They made one 95 year old lady a very happy person. We both are looking forward to them doing all the lawn care in the future.

In May, I arranged with a representative, Bob, to take care of spring clean-up to include weeding…read moreand putting some mulch down. He quoted me a reasonable price and the following Sunday, showed up with a crew to perform the job. They worked hard and he asked for a check before he left, which I gave him. A few days later I realized they'd neglected one side of the house, a flower bed about 8 x 3 feet. (I had told him it didn't need mulch but did need to be weeded.) I got in touch with Bob and he said they "must have forgotten." This was the week before Memorial Day. He said wouldn't be able to come until after the holiday. Three weeks later, the weeds were now far worse and I emailed Matt and texted Bob. Bob called me back and said he "had a job in the area coming up" and he'd stop by and get the weeds pulled. When he stopped by, he saw the state of the weeds and said he couldn't pull them then but he'd be back to spray them first. A few days later he did, and the weeds did indeed die. He's never come back to finish the job, however. I texted and called again, and he told me he'd be back within the week. That was June 24. It is now July 14. I have a big flowerbed of dead weeds that need to be cleared out. I've emailed Matt to no avail, and texting Bob gets me nowhere. I was really hoping I'd found a service I could rely on. Sadly, it appears that's not the case. I trusted the job would be completed as agreed. Obviously I should have walked the entire perimeter of the house and inspected every part of the job before paying.
