There is lots of room to park and plenty of seating the bleachers to watch the events. One of the teachers brought his students out to cheer on their school mates as the competed in events.

There's something nice about visiting old buildings, but add a little Reno pride to it and it only gets better. I was in the main gymnasium for most of the day, volunteering as a mock interviewer for juniors who were practicing their interview skills. The students here are diverse, in terms of their socioeconomic background, but all are respectful and exert a very nice level of maturity that is representative of a good school. Overall, it's a nice place and a school I wouldn't be ashamed of sending my kids to, making it worthy if five stars.

He came in struggling with different subjects and just got pushed aside. He asked for help and the teachers make him feel less than. I believe it was his math teacher who implied that he was "retarded". Moving through the school year he has displayed behavior problems as well. Who wouldn't, the adults he trust to guide him make him feel worthless so who wouldn't act out. I have dealt with mr Chubb calling me telling me that my child was outside being a nuisance when my kid was actually home in bed for the day. I know that kids will be kids and tell there side but a few things have made me believe that these teachers are indeed corrupt and show severe favoritism to certain groups. My recent experience is one of the students stole my sons backpack containing $400 and his iPhone X. My son tried defending his property and not only doesn't have his property back but he now as a black eye as well. I've left 3 messages for mr Chubb to call me back and he has yet to respond. This school is a joke and since attending this school they have managed to dim the light my son once shined. His self esteem and confidence has gone down the drain. Thanks for "nurturing" my son's young mind Reno High. He will continue his high school education elsewhere.

This is our third year at Hunsberger and we love our school! All of the teachers are great, many…read moreof them being Nationally Certified, which puts Hunsberger as one of the highest in the State rankings. Molly Lauf, our Principal, is wonderful with the children and is always looking for ways to improve the school. The Hunsberger PTA puts on several family-friendly events throughout the year and purchases much of the state of the art technology that the school district does not provide. In addition to purchasing equipment, the PTA also supports several programs that are not offered or paid for through the district, such as Foss kits, Kindness Enrichment programs and art. The Hunsberger art program offers all students opportunities to learn about artists and different mediums such as watercolors, oil pastels, acrylics as well as ceramic art. I love seeing all of the hallways lined with the art the kids have created! Not only is the school itself great, but the parents, many of whom volunteer their time on a regular basis are fantastic and always willing to help each other and look out for each others children. I am SO glad that I chose to live where I do, and part of that decision was based on the schools we are zoned for! All in all, this school is amamzing.......now, if only there was something we could do about the chaotic parking lot traffic! (Ha!)

It has gotten very crowded since it became a SWAS site as the siblings of SWAS attend as well. We saw the K class half day become a full day option, with 30 kids in the full day. One teacher and an aid....way crowded throughout. Our son was too distracted with a big class, so we were discouraged, but by years end our K student was reading end of first grade readers! They do group kids by level of learning even within a class. Our 2nd grader was in a class of 36 kids, with two teachers, but it was way large. They did again tiered learning, so he did great too. The parents make the school awesome.

Its so hard to put my experience into words. I came home every day and cried alone in my room…read morebecause I was bullied. I told my teachers repeatedly over the seven years I went to school there and they did nothing. Because my mother was Hispanic and had a full time job, she was treated as a outcast by both parents and teachers. One student even asked me if my mom was our maid. While I don't regret the experience because it made me the strong, compassionate, and brave women that I am today I don't want anyone to go through that. Honestly its something that still effects me today and I can't drive by the school (let alone go inside) without coming to tears. Please take your child to a school were they will learn in a safe and understanding environment.
