The staff was more than friendly and accommodating. The coffee shop very nice. I travel to Fort Meade about once a year and it was very handy to be right down the road. After stopping at the Holiday Inn Express in Mitchell, I looked to see what that room was here....sure enough, it was storage and restrooms. If they try and give you room 125, RUN.

We would not have been aware of it if somebody hadn't tried to get into our room, he was at the wrong room, but he was able to open the door and thank gosh I had the safety lock on , I told the front desk and they will work on it, but I just wanted you to be aware of this particular room. We were going to head home from Fargo when on a whim we thought we'd detour over to Wyoming to visit "Devil's Tower" In almost the same way we picked Fargo (throwing a dart at a map) we picked the Ace Motel in Belle Fourche just because it sounded like a nice place. The Ace motel was much more than a nice place, it is a quaint oasis in the wild lands of South Dakota. It felt like a Twilight Zone experience (and I mean this is the most positive way) we were suddenly in the courtyard of a 50's type motor inn. Going into the office we were greeted by Vicki the owner/manager/and more and received the warmest of welcomes. She said that she hoped we don't mind an old fashioned 50's feel, and we didn't mind that at all. We were given a key (YES A REAL KEY) on a diamond shaped plastic key chain (come on remember those).
