Days Inn is conveniently located within downtown. The motel is old. The exterior and the second floor hallways show its age. The inn has gone through some retrofits in the reception area and in the rooms' bathrooms. I think the inn needs more retrofits to look better. The elevator doesn't work.
Our room was big. This was probably one of the pros of staying at an older motel. The bed was comfortable. The HVAC was quiet. The black out curtains rocked. All the people we dealt with was extremely nice and helpful.
Days Inn is located in the "core". There are a lot of food places (Latin American, Italian, Vietnamese, Canadian, Canadian Chinese, fast food, pizza, etc). There are drugstores, grocery stores, banks, gas stations, etc.. The other newer chained motels/inns are far from downtown, so there is not much to do and eat (fish & chips and diners) where they are.
We got a room for free using reward points, so we found it okay. I won't pay C$160 out of pocket to stay here, though, when the newer motels are only slightly more expensive. I do recommend it if you want the convenience of the location, or if you can book it for free with reward points. read more
