I bought a Nest Doorbell with included the installation on Feb 7th. The first installer sent to me by Nest was the most unprofessional and incompetent electrician on this planet. He left without finishing the job and he even damaged the Nest doorbell. Two more companies were sent by Nest to try to finish the job without success! Finally after more than a month they sent me Larry as last chance. I was ready to return the product. Larry and his crew were perfectly on time and very knowledgeable and professional. They understood right away the problem and In 20 minutes they finished the installation properly. Great attitude, absolutely full 5 stars customer service and reliability. Be prepared for a very high price. I was charged $10 per minute that the repair man was here, and I provided all the hardware. They are skilled, courteous, prompt and honest (they could have lied and taken more time before pointing out the problem) but it cost me much more than I would have expected for the 20 minutes that the repair man was here. Thank goodness one of the issues was not a real problem (I was unaware of a dimmer that was installed). Needless to say I won't be calling them again. Addendum: The owner called me to argue that this was a fair price(it is his minimum for any call to a location) and that he could have lied to me and taken more time to charge me more and that he felt he was being punished for being honest. I appreciate his honesty, but that is the minimum I would have expected from anyone. I still feel the price was about twice what it should have been for providing so little service. read more

A year ago they installed a 220v outdoor outlet for an EV charger at the cost of $1700. I had outdoor wiring but they said since it will be in piping they could use indoor wiring. Well they went out and bought indoor wiring and installed it. They also installed the piping wrong too and water got in and corroded the shielding around the wires. The circuit breaker trips all the time now. A new electrician said it will cost $750 to replace all the wiring with outdoor wiring and new piping. Not only that they knocked out the power to the laundry room. I called 15 min after they left and they said they could not come back until another day. I opened the panel and found that they pulled the wires on that circuit breaker. I fixed it myself and told them they could did not have to come back. Obviously they won't fix it because their work is not guaranteed. read more

I recently purchased a video doorbell system and paid for the professional installation. My account was assigned to Larry at Daylight Electric, and I'm so glad that it was! As far as the doorbell installation, Larry was quick and professional. When my existing electric doorbell presented a problem he was able to swap it out with a mechanical model that he had with him and take care of the issue on the spot. While I would have been perfectly happy with just the doorbell install, here's where Larry went above and beyond. Earlier that morning out of the blue the wall outlets stopped working in several of my rooms. I thought it might have been a tripped breaker but I quickly discovered that it wasn't, and I had a bigger problem on my hands. I called my regular electrician and he wouldn't be able to come out until the following day. Now I had power in my kitchen and bathroom so it wasn't an emergency, but I didn't have power in the bedroom or living room so that would have meant no bedside light, no tv, and charging my phone in the bathroom. Not an emergency but definitely annoying! After Larry was finished with the doorbell I explained my issue with the outlets and asked if he had time to take a look. He immediately got to work, going under the house and up in the attic. It couldn't have been easy to figure out which line was the culprit but he systematically worked through line by line until he found the problem. After an hour my power was restored! I found the rate to be very reasonable and I very much appreciate his willingness to help. I highly recommend Daylight Electric. Their work and customer service is amazing! read more

We called late tonight and Daylight Electric picked up right away. We had an issue with our ADT lights turning on and off. We explained what was going on and the technician walked us through over the phone on how to fix the issue right away. (Apparently, we just needed to pull out a little plastic tab at the bottom on each light switch). We had previously called ADT and couldn't get this resolved in over an hour conversation with an ADT rep (ADT ended up telling us they would need to send someone in two days). However, desperate to not have to sleep with lights turning on and off at our house throughout the night and for another two days, we found Daylight Electric on Yelp. So glad we did. They installed my Ecobee which resulted in a $1,582 electric bill. After their first tech came out in mid march we realized our AC was actually turning on the heat instead of the cool. It took us a couple weeks to notice this so they charged us again to come out and try to fix it. Our electric company switched us to online billing so we hadn't received a paper bill since April. When we went online to check our bill...low and behold ever since they wired our Ecobee our usage sky rocketed. Last month alone was over $550. I called and asked for them to come and undo whatever they did and they wanted to charge us again because "it was 5 months later". Whoever runs their phones kept yelling and I couldn't get a word in. Was very unprofessional. Now no company will fix the wiring as they don't want to be liable. It has been over 80 degrees in LA this last week, we have no AC and just paid a $1600 electric bill thanks to them. read more

I called Daylight Electric with an emergency -- a/c went out with temperatures over 100. They said they would be out within 2 hours. The came out -- very professional and thorough -- it was just a bad fuse on the a/c unit. Went up on the roof- replaced it - all done in 20 minutes! Not to mention -- this was during a major heatwave on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. I can't say enough about how pleased I was. I was reluctant to service my electrical needs because of the cost and fear that I won't understand what is needed. All I know is that everything is connected together and doesn't work properly. We have old lights on tracks throughout the place as well as dimmer switches and old light fixtures....and the panel is all screwed up meaning the wiring behind it inside the wall has been tampered with by an amateur. I knew this and thought there's no hope and this will cost me a shit load of money. Anyways, I am more than happy with the professionalism and knowledge that these guys possess and am grateful there are honest good companies out there. I several projects in my 1 bedroom condo including installing Smart Home enabled switches and recessed lighting for a high ceiling. They itemized the various projects, got all of the hardware, were fast and explained everything. I wish I had thought to ask about their payment method which is by check. I had assumed credit card.
