Staff pride themselves on the advice that they can give and they really do seem to know their stuff. They're happy for you to handle cameras and will not try to push you into a purchase that you're not happy with. They're happy for you to go away. A wide range of makes are stocked. New and secondhand models are available. The shop carries a huge range of accessories for photographers from bags to lenses, metres to tripods, albums to frames. Prices are competative. There's a photo processing service which offers excellent results although it will cost you more than the main chains. The shop itself is old, cluttered and dark. It feels like it should though! I'd recommend Harpers and their service without hesitation.

This branch carries a good stock of Manfrotto tripods - I bought a 190CXPRO4 & three way head for a good price. If you shop here regularly & are recognised, it's worth asking for a discount. They sell the usual brands & will clean DSLR sensors if you don't want to or dare do it yourself! Worth a visit.

So glad to have arrived early and had a chance to walk in and be treated to a wealth of knowledge on vintage cameras and service with patience and a smile. The proprietor is a wonderful gentleman who takes his time to explain details and the history of the vintage cameras he sells. I wound up buying a Minolta Minox and hope to some day bring home a Leica III he has in excellent condition

The instructions on how to take an appropriate photo ran to 2.5 pages with photos! So I chickened out and decided to put myself in the hand of professionals. It's increasingly difficult to find places which take passport photos but the Snappy Snap shops still offer this service. They also open early, which is useful if you work and want to pop in before work. The lady who dealt with me was knowledgeable and put my mind at rest with her confidence with knowing the requirements for the visa photo. She also took a few snaps to get a good shot. It cost me £25 for 2 physical prints and a CD with the precious digital image to upload.
