We had an EverStart, Walmart battery that was dead. Since it was less than a year old, we went to…read moreWalmart to replace it under the Walmart warranty. Unfortunately, Mark, the Manager On Duty was behind the counter. He completely shut us down, stating that there is NO warranty for small batteries. He said that even if I brought it back the day after purchase he'd refuse to take it back. Mind you, on the wall is advertised "3 Year Warranty", And "4 Year Warranty." NOTHING about ZERO warranties for smaller batteries (whatever "smaller" is defined as). If indeed, that is the Walmart policy, it is what it is. I don't expect people to break rules to accommodate me. But there is NO excuse for the attitude. Mark (last name unknown-he refused to provide it) was full of attitude and more concerned with receiving a negative review then he was satisfying a customer. He refused to even test the battery to see if that was the problem. As a business owner employing 200, I know you can't fix something if you don't know it's an issue. I also recognize the need for a coaching moment. And this was one of those moments, because if he worked for me, and I witnessed that interchange, he'd be searching for a new job on Indeed. Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe he lost his dog. Or maybe he's just in the wrong position. What ever the reason, it caused a customer to spend their money elsewhere. Customer service isn't that hard. It starts with wanting to provide it.

DON'T DO IT! RUN AWAY!…read more I recently took my car to the Montrose, CO Walmart for an oil change b/c I needed to get some shopping done at the same time. Turns out they were completely behind on their appointments and didn't get to my car until about an hour and a half after my appointment. Then, after I checked in to see how long it would take (I had other appointments I needed to get to), was told another 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. I didn't press it, and just figured I'd have to cancel other things if I couldn't make it. They ended up rushed my oil change and ended up stripping the plug making the pan leak. They informed me that "the plug was stripped" (in a passive way like it just "was") and didn't have anything else to offer me on the subject. Turned out almost all my oil leaked out in about a week, and I got an appointment with my mechanic to address it. The pan had to be replaced, as well as the oil. Over $460 of damage caused by Walmart! And, knowing this, they still charged me for the oil change!! I called my mechanic first and asked if they had noticed anything last time I was in (had been in recently for something else and they typically give things a once-over) and they said it was fine and no leak. So I called Walmart and explained the problem. Couldn't talk to anyone who could help me with this and was informed that I would have to make a trip to come in and speak to Jennifer (??). I was given one day she would be there, but no time. And the gal refused to take my information and have Jennifer call me. Her response when I pressed why was "This is not my fault." As though she had no responsibility of customer service for something she didn't cause. All I can say is LESSON LEARNED. Avoid Walmart Auto like the plague.

After discussing trip &…read moremileage w/ my regular shop they advised that the oil be changed as it didn't have the 2,000 miles left in it to get us home. As it turned out I pushed the miles as far as I safely could - to the area where my brother & his wife live - Montrose, CO. My sister-in-law told me Shop 'N Lube was reasonably priced, and nice folks. Having had the recommendation I did not ask the cost of the oil change. Within the the hour this would become a lesson. Although the oil change was done timely the charges seemed extraordinarily high: $92.90 + 4.72 tax, total $97.62. At the time I did not dispute this because they had done the work - AND it was my own foolishness to fail to discuss price in advance. When I got home I took my car in for the rest of the service visit that was due - and presented the bill from Shop 'N Lube for their review. In their view I had been upcharged for EACH OF the oil, the labor, the oil filter. My opinion: if you are visiting Montrose do not expect to be treated fairly at Shop 'N Lube. Suggest that visitors to Montrose consider negotiating and agreeing on a FIRM cost prior to getting oil changed.

Our fault for not checking the price first, I guess, but there's no way we ever thought it would be over $300! The truck has less than 41,000 miles-not like it needed anything extra. Ridiculous!!!

I called my dealer (Cowboy Harley) in Austin that services my bike. My service manager Parmer put me on hold for a few minutes and told me they have a sister dealership in Grand Junction, Co. He called them for me and explained the symptoms I told him and said they are expecting me as soon as I could arrange a tow. My insurance Geico sent out a flat-bed truck to Rifle, Co to pick me up and bring me 70mi to Teddy Morse on a Friday. Long story short, it turns out the water pump and a couple sensors went out. Thank God I bought an extended service plan for it last month! I must say my service team (Sabrina, Tracy & Paul) were the consummate professionals! They got me back on the road the next day (Sat afternoon). I really want to shoutout Paul my Tech. I know a little about the mechanicals of my bike and Paul went out of his way to invite be back into the shop to show me what he did, what is broken and what was fixed. Paul....you rock brother! Actually, the whole team at Teddy Morse are rockstars!!! If you need work done on your ride, take it to Teddy Morse, they get you done right!

Ended up purchasing the bike and then we had to figure out how to get it back to Denver. We decided on a road trip and was there when the shop opened in the morning. They had not gotten the bike ready due to unexpected events. So we waited while they got the bike ready for the road and completed the final paperwork. While he was busy I sat and visited with the manager of the BMW section and the other sales person. My bad for not getting their names. I was still tired from the drive the previous day. But they were welcoming and made me feel at ease. The other KTM sales person was also friendly. And when I walked over to the Harley section to use the restroom, the sales people there smiled and said hello. We thought that the whole experience was much better than in Denver where the sales people are fine but a little more snooty. Like they're the ones doing you a favor. We would definitely shop here again. Lots of parking in the lot. Cool merchandise and a service department.
