I would not recommend Flanary Veterinary Clinic if you expect thorough care or clear communication…read more I have brought my dog here for multiple surgeries over the years, but my recent experience made it clear I will not be returning. When I requested my dog's official lab records, I discovered that following his 2023 surgery, no urolith sample was ever sent to a laboratory for analysis meaning we never received critical information on what kind of stones he had. The clinic owner herself stated that the doctor's notes from the 2023 surgery showed only "tiny tiny 'sludge'" in the bladder, so a stone analysis was never sent off. Consulting another clinic confirmed that a 2023 cystotomy surgery was not even necessary since there were no actual stones, only sludge. My final visit on a Saturday was extremely disappointing. The doctor rushed in and out of the exam room in under 10 minutes. I was never shown my dog's X-rays, my questions were left unanswered, and his primary issue a leg injury where he wasn't putting weight on his leg was completely ignored. He prescribed antibiotics without even communicating it to his assistant, who nearly checked me out without the medication. When I brought these issues to management, Dr. Flanary reached out admitting it was the doctor's first Saturday working independently and offered a free recheck. I sent a detailed explanation outlining all of my concerns, but received no further response or follow-up. Offering a free visit does not fix a complete breakdown in clinical care, communication, and basic patient evaluation. Save yourself the frustration and find a clinic that takes the time to properly evaluate your pet and address your concerns.

The Jenny Ridge Kennel deserves 5-star review and then some!…read more - Vetting: Leota mentioned Mike turns down more potential buyers than he accepts them. I have no doubt. Everything is up front and transparent. Mike really takes his time to learn about potential buyers to ensure they are a good fit for the puppies. He is endless patient with Qs/As, to the point I worried they had been on the phone for so long that hubby was keeping Mike from dinner time! (Do respect their time and ask informed questions!) - Pre-pickup: echo other reviewers. Frequent and informative updates from potential conception to puppy pick up. 0 surprises. - Pickup: easy, straightforward with clear paperwork. The Holloways welcomed us into their homes with warmth and kindness that hark back to the best of yesteryears. - Transport home: we worried how puppy would handle the 10h+ drive. The Holloways thought of everything and then some: extra water + food to ensure no upset tummy, towel with mom and siblings scent, a chew toy to relieve stress. So helpful in the first days! That toy remains his favorite nearly one month later. What really amazed us was pup gave unmistaken potty signals. We thought we would need to make off the beaten paths stops every 30min, instead, they were more like 1-2h gaps. The amount of prep work the Holloways did to ensure a smooth transition! - Puppy's progress. Hubby wanted a bird-hunting dog outside and a good fam dog inside. So far, puppy has exceeded our best hopes! He is friendly to strangers but only "velcros" us. He started sleeping through the night within 1 week. Now 3 weeks in, he's commanded "sit", "come" and "heel". And puppy is natural retriever! Dummy-tested day 3 home. Puppy came home obviously well-socialized, healthy and already has preliminary crate training under the belt. Our prior non-GSP was not. The difference is night and day, with lifelong impact on temperament and assimilation. Recommend future buyers to know what kind of puppy you want/need, and trust Mike's judgement to pick the most suitable pup. Benefit from Mike's knowledge, experience and attention to details. The Holloways are hardworking, nice, thoughtful and obviously devoted to the betterment of the GSP breed. They deserve all the stars!

I'm a nurse and recognize a good diagnostician when I see it. They don't waste your time and money trying things they don't think will help just to run up a bill. They even did heart surgery in their office and gave a dog of mine with a death sentence over it's head every expectation of a long normal life! They also take the time to reassure your pet so going to the vet isn't stressful to them. It's just a shame I can't give them more than 5 stars.
