Based on a referral Kay and I had gotten from her mother, we contacted D&B, and after a short phone conversation and getting the appropriate forms, receipts, and such to them, our taxes were filed in no time. A mere week after our federal, state, and local taxes were prepared, Kay and I each received the heftiest refunds we've ever gotten. The work was done in a professional manner at a fair price that embarrasses chains such as H&R Block (when I used them years ago, they didn't get me jack squat back, America). D&B comes highly recommended for all of your tax preparation needs if you so happen to live in Midland or the surrounding areas (Kay's parents still live in Beaver Falls). Now to spend that extra dough.

He provided a very detailed list of exactly what was needed -- down to the T. I'm very organized and made sure every single item on that list was turned in. Everything was submitted exactly as requested, and Ken personally confirmed that all documents were received and even commended me on my diligence throughout the process. Then, out of nowhere, the secretary claimed they didn't have certain documents -- even though Ken had already confirmed they did. Since then, it's been difficult to reach him directly, and we've been passed around to different people who don't seem to be on the same page. We were also told from the start that we only needed to complete one counseling certificate, which we did. Later, we were informed we'd have to pay for another one. The process has been confusing, inconsistent, and very unorganized. We're still in the middle of this process, and unfortunately, it continues to feel all over the place. At this point, we're hoping to get our money refunded.

He took the time to explain our options in plain English and made recommendations based on our individual situation. Even after our taxes were filed the support continued when the IRS had follow up questions later in the year, long after we had already paid for his services. Will is honest, fair and diligent. Always doing what he promised. He has a team of accountants working for him, but the fact he took the time away from his growing company to talk to us throughout the whole process shows his dedication to getting it right.

I have used Horner, Wible & Terek for several years in the past. This year I filed taxes by myself…read more I received one of the IRS notifications that I needed to verify my return online. In order to do so, I needed to provide my tax return from last year as well as the supporting documents. I called Horner, Wible & Terek to ask about getting copies of the tax return and documents. Lisa answered the phone and was very helpful........until I advised her that I had not done my taxes through them this year. If you could have heard the condescending tone in her voice, I am sure you would have been upset as well. I don't believe that kindness and good behavior is something that should only be administered to current clients - I believe that it should be a reflection of who you are as a person. Sadly, Lisa did not exhibit that. She did agree to make some of (not all) the information available to me but, advised that she had deadlines so it would have to wait until after April 15th. Her current workload apparently does not permit her to make a few copies, put them in an envelope and put them in the tray for outgoing mail. I am so disappointed to realize that for Horner, Wible & Terek, the only people worthy of decent customer service are the people that continue to pay for their services year after year.

My wife and I began doing our income taxes at Del Greco five years ago, very basic, reasonable cost, then the second year the program is illuminated to include an investment scheme or no more tax services! Well, I'm 66yo now, had to move some retirement funds around and thought, "OK, we can park the money with their Great American Insurance Group with the understanding that this is some of our retirement Fun-Money that we will access off and on to do some fun stuff!" Within a year I needed cash for knee replacement surgery. Got $5K and paid over $1,000.00 "surrender fee." Then needed $20K and got socked for over $3,000.00 "surrender fee" and found out after two yrs that our money is locked into a 20 year maturity program and we shouldn't touch it for 20 yrs or get hit with these ridiculous fees if we do! The whole plan with Mike at Del Greco was made EXTREMELY CLEAR = we need easy access to our money ~ which was totally ignored and placed in a wholly inappropriate program without ever communicating details to us! Horrible, terrible, sad experience. We have had to get all of our funds recently, over $20K more, due to cancer treatment needs, and were hit with over $6,000.00 more in "surrender fees" from Great American because Del Greco does not listen, does not communicate clearly, and does not provide professional customer service.
