They were very minor, but not comforting knowing the person we rely on for this is making mistakes. When we asked him about what happened, he brushed it off as no big deal...okay fine, we moved past it. This year, he provided us with withholding consultation, which we paid extra for, that was WAY off. We noticed the inconsistencies in early April and brought them to his attention, to which he requested we follow up after tax season (understandable). We then met with him when schedules allowed, and it was clear he was completely lost on how our income works, and let me tell you, it's not that complex at all! He then had the nerve to ask us to pay for these services again! When I questioned him on this and reminded him that we had already paid for these services and that he missed the mark, he completely ghosted us. We left countless voicemails, sent a bunch of emails, and he would not respond. This went on over the course of 5 weeks, it was clear he was avoiding me. He never took the time to ask simple questions about our income and, even worse, made assumptions about how we earn our yealy incomes. He completely relied on this tax accounting software to do the work for him, and unfortunately for us, that still requires some level of competence... I'm writing this review to save others from the pain of having to go through this, do yourself a favor, and look elsewhere.

The consistency and benefit of working with an individual who has the knowledge and background of his clients is indispensable. The staff right away was talking one on one with the 5/3rd manager in Chicago to work on the process. May I also add this was on a sat. running against the clock of an early closing day. I had great experience in prior years but this year is different. I dropped off our tax documents…read moreon Thursday March 5th and usually about 2 weeks to be completed as we were told in prior years. We received a call on Friday March 20th by one of their office staff that our return was ready to be picked up. My husband, son and I went to sign and pick up our tax forms and thought we would be receiving our IRS return roughly 2 weeks from picking up our forms. It is now Monday March 30 almost April and our return was never sent to the IRS by their office and this I only found out because I had logged on to the IRS website to check on our refund but they did not have our information so I called Covati and Janhsen and that's when they said it was never sent to the IRS. So if I didn't check the IRS website for our refund, I would have never known my return wasn't filed. I trusted their office with our documents and return yet our forms just sat somewhere in their office without being filed and without even a call. If I didn't call them who knows how long before our return would have been sent to the IRS if even at all. So disappointed unfortunately we will not be returning.
