The tragic story written on this plaque talked about a lynching of a black Union Army veteran who ran away with a white girl only to be found by 25 masked horseman who promptly lynched him. I find myself stopping when I see a historic plaque. I learned a bit of local history and walk away a more wiser person.

We went on opening weekend to the biggest movie - one of the most anticipated of the entire year - at prime viewing time and our auditorium was small and honestly, not great. The projector seemed dim, the screen very obviously needed cleaning, and the sound was extremely lacking. (Auditorium 8 at 6:30pm on a Friday night, for reference.) And on top of that the theatre was hotter than hell for no reason other than it seemed AC was not running at all. What a letdown especially because I have been loudly recommending this place to friends and family for a decade. This place still has their points program and clean bathrooms and their popcorn was delicious but everything else was such a bummer. And to add insult to injury, they switched from Coca-Cola to Pepsi. *sigh* I don't know if this is all due to new management or if they're going through a tough time but y'all really need to get it together before you lose more customers.

This library is far from being comfortable but it's at least functional.Its kind of loud and more family orientated.Maybe because its just Saturday. They have an adult fiction, childrens,young adult, adult non fiction section.The printers are located up front near the check out.Also up front is the computer sign up which is more towards the middle.The information desk is next to the computers and everything else is around in the front or the behind..Basically you wont get lost anywhere in this place. The people seem pretty nice I guess.My cousin called me twice and this old lady gave me a look like I was disturbing the peace.She chooses to ignore the others talking and the rowdy kids earlier but I guess that didn't matter. This isn't really the greatest place to study or think but I'm sure they do have some info in here.Its a library afterall.

My leaders couldn't be more complimentary of the service that they and their customers received from Mrs. Grandberry. I have hired many private car services over the past 25 years, but can't taut this experience enough. Her entire presentation was that of elegance, her vehicles were beautifully waxed, shined inside and out--simply immaculate! Apparently Sunday travel has its challenges with flight delays; however, she has facility for being a patient, accommodating, and a savvy business person who is proactive and plans ahead. Additional feedback from the travelers were that she was warm, friendly, and engaging with a very nice sense of humor to boot. She will be our go-to for professional ground travel service in the future!

Along the way, we saw popular attractions which allowed us to go back on our own on other days. We were really lucky to have a small group with special attention from the owner. For years I swore as soon as the kids were grown, we were moving to this neighborhood. No doubt, this is where I wanted to be. You can easily access just about anything you could possibly ever need within a half mile radius of the corner of Cooper and Young. In fact, you probably don't need it if you can't find it here. Unfortunately, the area is getting hit hard with crime. I went down a side street not long ago and every single car on the street had a window busted out. I decided then I would rather just do what I said at the beginning of this review. Visit, hang out, and play....
