I love hanging out in Cooper Young when I'm in Memphis. It's a great, walkable neighborhood with a lot of shops, restaurants, a brewery, etc. I've visited Two Rivers Bookstore (a bookstore that specializes in horror, sci-fi, and fantasy books), Java Cabana (a charmingly weird little coffee shop), 901 Comics (a comic book store), Goner Records (a record store), House of Mews (a cat shelter/adoption center), and the Beauty Shop Restaurant (a great brunch spot). While they're not technically in Cooper-Young, if you walk down Cooper until Central Avenue, there's also Memphis Made Brewing and Central BBQ. And that's not the half of it! Definitely a lot to do! Park on a side street and explore! Come hungry and thirsty! Be ready to shop. read more
