I knew of Abaca back in 2018 when we ate at their Banilad coffeehouse after an early arrival. This location in Ayala was the nearest to Seda, where we were staying. Was thinking of having a to-go lunch but decided on dining in after seeing available seating for two. My teen had the Luncheonette Burger and I had the Breakfast Quesadilla with Apple Beet Carrot and Ginger Juice. I also got the triple ristretto ABC coffee takeout for my wife. F&D was excellent as always. This spot at the Ayala Terraces is quite intimate with additional al fresco seating across from it. it's quite a busy restaurant from what I've observed passing by it during our stay in Seda. It has a great view of the mall's garden space though. Service is excellent with one staff overlooking our section of the dining area. I clumsily forgot to retrieve my credit card after paying and for two days, I didn't know it was missing until I had to use it again. Tracked events back to here and got it back. They asked for an ID and the card was back to it's forgetful owner.

You order at the front then wait for your food to arrive at your table. We advised the cashier we stayed at Tsai and showed them our room key, they had another promo going on where you buy a drink and a meal you get dessert for 1 peso. We opted for the meal+drink promo, apparently you can only choose either or for the promos. Either you do the 15% off for being a Tsai Hotel guest or you choose the combo promo, you can't have both. We ordered chicken parmesan, chicken pesto (creamy), a latte, hot tea, strawberry cake, and chocolate cheesecake. The spaghetti for the chicken parmesan packed flavor. You can taste every bit of garlic.. yum! Chicken was moist and tender in the inside and crispy out. The chicken pesto was equally as good. Chicken was also moist and tender, sauce was of good consistency. The strawberry cake was off the chain, it was so soft and you can actually taste the strawberry flavor. Cake was of good portion. The chocolate cheesecake bar was ok, the size was more on the side of like 1 bite or 2, but the bar itself was also moist. I'd say Tazza is of convenient location if staying at Tsai and will come back again to try their other menu items.

The location for this place is a little bit after Golden Peak Hotel, so if your coming from there it'll be on your right. We order their roast beef bahn mi and master beef ribs. bahn mi meat was on the dry side and I believe there was only one flavor. They did not include cilantro but I belive they did include cucumbers. Presentation was cute. My wife ordered the beef ribs and she stated it was just ok. For dessert I ordered an ice cream sandwhich and she a piece of ube cake. Now that was good. Ice cream sandwhich seemed to be pre-made as it was kinda stiff and chewy, however the chocolate cookie was tasty. Ube cake was moist and fresh. Service was good and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. Overall I might come back to taste their other desserts. Tip: they accept credit cards, and if you want to jeepney back you hafta walk a little ways.

And lucky we Cebuanos, there's a store inside Robinson Mall in Fuente! Yebaaaaa!!! Sans Rival, for those who are not familiar is a famous Filipino cake of layered dessert that intersperses cashew meringue with French buttercream. Came here to fix my sweet tooth coz Sans Rival knows how to do it properly. I got Silvanas and braso de mercedes unfortunately ni sans rival coz they're out! Not a surprise as this dessert is so famous and went here right before they close! Better luck next time! Silvanas - Filipino frozen cookie and like Sans Rival it is base on French Dacquoise dessert cake. The buttercream is sandwiched between two cashew- meringue wafers coated with cookie crumbs. The flavor is light, crispy and nutty. It is delightfully mouthwatering and I can't stop each bite that I ended up eating 4 in one sitting. Ugh! My tooth is the happiest! LoL. They also offer different flavors (e.g., chocolate, pandan, strawberry, ube & butter). Braso de Mercedes - another traditional Filipino meringue roll with custard filling dusted with powdery sugar. This heavenly cake is considered as one of the all-time favorites in the Philippines. Its sponge-like texture will delectably melt in your mouth while the rich custard filling makes you so "kilig" coz its sweet! Haha. I know, you shouldn't be eating this especially if your pre-diabetic, coz it's dangerously addicted. Customer service is pretty good. The counter area was protected between plastic covers coz as you all know the Philippine itself is still strict. Dine-in is allowed but limited chairs and table. They got other stuffs other than desserts on their menu like lunch and all-day breakfast. The next time you're in Philippines, you gotta visit Sans Rival and try their delectable desserts! It won't disappoint you. Mahalo for reading and happy juandering fellow yeeps!

Probably would not order again. The Yema cake was yummy! We got Silvanas for take out. They were supposed to give it to us frozen like the package says, but it was not frozen. Honestly, though, that did not bother me. It still tasted awesome!!! They have other food besides desserts. Seriously, though, I think the desserts our the items to purchase at Sans Rival.

Not even water would've made it an okay experience with the service. Again, the desserts here are great. But I do remember last time I visited their original shop in Mandaue, that the Lava Cake was so-so. Hence, I stuck with the other cake(s). I hope they can expedite things that are easier to get out, than focusing on first come-first serve when it involves their Lava cakes. It just takes too long to prep when there are tons of people, and a 2-man staff.
