I brought my…read more2003 Ford Taurus to get the tensioner pulley replaced on it (a small job that takes less than an hour) and it sat there for almost 3 days. I understand if there's work backed up, but this is ridiculous! I was quoted $75 and that my car would be ready yesterday, only to call AGAIN this morning and find out they still hadn't done any work on it. The "mechanic" called me back less than 5 minutes later and told me I had sent the wrong part, and basically insinuated I'm stupid for doing it. Anyone who knows cars knows a Ford Taurus has 3 different style engines, and it's very easy to pick up the wrong part on accident. There's a Napa less than 1/2 mile from the garage. Anywhere else, they'd get the part, bill me for it, and give me the receipt. Not these guys. I ended up picking up my car, still with a bad tensioner ( which causes your alternator to not charge your battery) and take it to someone else, who got it fixed in less than 30 minutes.

I had an incredible experience with Melvin's. I was told By Advance Auto that my alternator was…read morebad on my 2013 Toyota Sienna. After calling around to a few places, I decided on Melvin's. First, they honored the lifetime warranty that Napa and other auto parts places gave the alternator. Secondly, they gave a year longer warranty on labor than the local Toyota dealerships. Lastly, they have the best price. Replacing the alternator is nearly an $800 job. Because of the high expense, Adam took it upon himself to test it before simply replacing it. It turns out, it wasn't bad after all. My van has a lot of specialized driving equipment that allows me to drive, even though I am a quadriplegic paralyzed from my chest down. When Adam and his team were unsure how to troubleshoot some of the specialized equipment, he did not hesitate to call the handicap equipment company that built my van. They took the time to properly diagnose the problem and even helped me contact a local company specializing in the equipment installed in my van. Furthermore, they did not charge me for all their help! So instead of costing nearly $800 to replace an alternator that was not bad, I was able to replace a $26 backup battery that tied into my Specialty Equipment. I cannot speak highly enough of the team at Melvin's! Adam and the others treated us with respect, honesty, and like family.
