I have been to this location quite a few times over the years & had horrible experiences. Previous consultants have been rude, pushy, and tried persuading the bridal party I was in to try on 4 sizes too large so you use their in-house tailor. (As in, they refused to even let us try on the sizes we wanted.) I understand that formal gowns run small, but I went back a week later and tried on my actual size to discover it fit like a glove. That was back in 2018. This last time, September 15th, 2023, was the first time that I actually encountered a friendly and helpful consultant. Holly was more than accommodating, so patient, and so personable. She did not give up until she found something that my mother would love. She makes you feel comfortable and she is not at all pushy or trying to up-sell you. We thoroughly enjoyed working with her and she was truly a breath of fresh air for this location! Alterations costed over half of the dress and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting!

The alterations cost more than the actual dress did. They called me 3 times adding more charges to the original price, one $80, the second was $120 and the third (a couple days before the pick up) was $200... for a zipper. Which means I can't put the dress on with out paying the $200... The alterations were $500 to begin with BEFORE the additional random add on charges. Personally I think it's a little ridiculous to expect people to drop what they're doing and pay even more than the original price you signed for... When I said I didn't have the money at that exact moment I was told they would push back my pick up date for the dress. Which would make it a few days before the actual wedding. I think weddings are already stressful enough, they make it even harder and way more difficult for brides than needs to be. There's many reasons they sucked but that's the main one that stuck out to me. I felt manipulated into thinking I couldn't get my dress in time if I didn't pay hundreds more. The first visit I felt welcomed. As soon as I paid for my dress, all the other visits felt like a scam. Terrible. I am so glad I'll never have to set foot in there again. Will never purchase from here again! I ordered 2 bridesmaid dresses in January. Picked the first one up with no problems. I got a call from the WINSTON SALEM, NC location that "some man" had picked up my 2nd bridesmaid dress. No record of his name. Only that the dress was gone. And it is too late to reorder the dress because it will not arrive until after the wedding. I was offered a full refund OR a "not so similar" dress in the correct color and size for a "discounted rate". When I went online to see a photo of the dress option, the "discount" I was offered was presented to me as a 40% discount for the inconvenience. It was actually already discounted at 30% with the diamond rewards (which I already have)...so the discount was really 10% off to purchase a dress my daughter doesn't like!! It is too late to order the correct color in any other dress options. read more

We had a great experience at David's Bridal. I only had two weekends that I could come home and shop for a dress. The first weekend I came home and went to David's and fell in love with one dress, however I wanted to check out a bridal warehouse for another one with possibly a better price. However the next weekend when I came home, the warehouse prices were through the roof and I didn't find a single dress within my price range or close to my size. So we went back to david's to get the original one I loved. The ladies there were very sweet and accommodating. The veils there are fairly pricy so I actually found one on Amazon that looked the exact same for a quarter of the price. Other than that, their prices are all very reasonable. I received a ton of compliments on my dress and many people were shocked to hear it came from there. Recommending david's bridal to all my future bride friends! read more

I was in here a couple weeks ago searching for a dress that I needed for my elopement that was a little more than a month away. I was nervous and anxious about being able to find something. Yareth was my bridal consultant that day and she was amazing! She had a very sweet, calming presence. She let me go through all the racks searching for what I wanted and also offered me some suggestions. I did find a dress that day that I loved but ultimately decided on another dress from elsewhere. Even though I didn't buy my dress here, I had such a good experience that I wanted to share it. They had a great selection and their staff was wonderful too. Not a good experience today. My daughter received an email this morning saying her favorite dress is back in stock. Not only is it NOT in stock but it is discontinued! First time visiting davids bridal and I got treated like I was the only person in the store. They catered to my every need. Each time I've been back they have been super nice and considerate of my interest. Also, during my visits I explained to them that I am currently expecting and they were nice enough to let me exchange the corset and slip due to be getting bigger! I really appreciated that The only thing I disliked was one day I called alterations and spoke with "Jen." She acted like she was in such of a hurry to get off the phone and would not fully listen to an appointment I was trying to make. I simply asked her if she had anything available around the same time I was picking up my dress so we could knocked out one of my bridesmaids alterations at the same time. She acted like she didn't want to look or try. It could have been a simple yes or no, and to look. Other than that, I love the different dresses they have in stock and how fast things are ready to be picked up. Their prices are reasonable if you have a limit on price. They offer so many discounts and run so many specials! They surly come in handy. Will recommend anyone to visit them first if they are looking for dresses or any occasion. read more

I had a great experience here finding my wedding dress. My consultant, Tiffany, was very sweet and went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. She was also patient as I tried on several different styles and consulted with my mom/bridesmaids for each one. Even though her shift was supposed to end at a particular time that afternoon, she stayed late and pulled a few more options for me - including the dress that ended up being the one! Talk about amazing customer service. The dress is beautiful, just my style and was on clearance - we were floored by the deal we got, considering how nice the dress looks. I made an appointment to come in & try on some wedding dresses knowing I had to buy off the rack since my wedding was less than 2 weeks away. I was anxious & nervous about the process & I am BEYOND thrilled I got paired up with Abigail ! What a sweetheart. You can tell she truly cares about your experience ! She was great at finding dresses that complimented my curvy figure & staying within my budget. It was weird that there were no mirrors in the dressing rooms, but there must be some kind of reasoning. Anyhow, after several dresses, my future mother in law & I decided we needed to go have lunch to discuss our 2 favorites & pick one. She was totally understanding. Been debating about whether or not to even bother with writing a review, but in the end, I felt like management needs to realize that their customer service can be desperately lacking. On my appointment day, I didn't even get to meet my "consultant/stylist" because she ran over with her previous bride. Now granted, her other bride should not have been ignored, but some adjustments could have been made or I could have been better accommodated, because in the hour and a half I was there, I never met her. Again, I didn't expect another bride to receive bad customer service, but my time shouldn't have been sacrificed. When I first got there, I was pointed in a general direction of dresses to go browse, but then got chastised by other consultants because apparently I was in an area where only consultants were allowed...but no one told me that. Then, finally after waiting for approximately 40 minutes, the door greeter came up to me and said my consultant was still busy, so the greeter grabbed 4 dresses for me and showed me to a dressing room. My sister had to help me zip up and get in. No one available to clip me to make the dresses fit better, or offer a veil to try on or even to suggest other dresses for me to try on...no one even bothered to come by and see if I needed any help. After the 4th dress, I said I'm done, and I walked out vowing to never go back. And, I won't be. Now, I know some brides have wonderful customer service at DB, and that's great. But, I had horribly lacking customer service, and I will never recommend anyone going there. In the following weeks, I went to other places and got FAR better customer service at all of them. I found my dress at a smaller boutique that gave me a dream, wedding dress shopping experience. That dress is honestly more than I ultimately wanted to spend, but in the end, I'm glad to pay someone who made me feel like I mattered and was deserving of time and made the experience magical. read more

I had a wonderful time letting my bridesmaids try on different style dresses and the associate that helped was super energetic and helpful! All of my girls found the dresses they felt most comfortable in and the lady saved them on my profile. Isaiah was my wedding dress consultant and he is was super helpful and really funny! She was pushy and rude to me in front of another party of people when I came for a fitting. Don't waste your time, go to the David's bridal in Greensboro. These people are rude and are not familiar with the product that they sell. I am the maid of honor for my best friend whose wedding is a little over a year away. We made an appointment in advance to try on bridesmaids dresses. When we got there the only size that was available to try on for me was a size 12. I am a size 2, so I tried the dress on just to get a feel of the look, when the consultant finally came back to us (we were the only ones in the store) she rudely informed us that they do not take measurements for dresses, and that an inch would be the difference in size and pinched my dress 2 inches inward and said "yes you can wear a 2". So not only do they not know what they're talking about she lied to us because not one week earlier the David's bridal in Greensboro North Carolina took measurements and wrote them down for my bride in the store. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to that store. read more

"My wedding is 9/23. I have two bridesmaids that still need dresses. I decided that my girls can pick their own dresses, I would just tell them fabric, color and length. I set an appointment on 7/8 for 5 pm at the Winston Salem location. We arrived before 5. I signed in and when the associates found out that I had already purchased my dress from another store, their whole attitude changed towards the level of service we would get. We waited 18 minutes (i timed it) for someone to come and just speak to us. Once that happened, every comment and idea was either rude or negative. For example, the associate that helped us would say "we can't get that so you can put that back" or "this is all you have to choose from and really this is all I can do for you!" Once we finally got a dressing room, the lady assigned to us left us and never helped fit the dresses to my girls or give any positive feedback or ideas. She even told my maid of honor "you don't have to like anything I pull for you" and walked off. I have a video showing that no one was talking or helping us while we were trying things on. The two girls that were with me finally said this is getting old, tookthe dresses off and stopped trying on because the service was terrible. When we decided to leave I asked if they could right down a style number for us to have just in case we needed to get that dress and the associate said I'll write it down for you thanks and have a great evening and walked away. The time range from when we actually received help to the time we left was about 40 minutes. We will not be returning." read more

After the alterations lady pricked her finger and bled all down my dress and the manager refused to offer any service other than cutting and sewing a new back on my dress (not even the same material), I will definitely not be back. If it's YOUR fault my dress is ruined INSIDE YOUR STORE, you should be on the phone ordering me a NEW dress THAT DAY. When I think back on my wedding dress buying experience, this is what I'll remember. It's been 6 months since my wedding and I'm still telling everyone I know to NOT go to this store FOR ANYTHING. The WORST customer service. DO NOT go here because you will be greeted by sarcastic, unhelpful, and uneducated staff. The return/exchange policies are unreasonable and impractical. You get what you pay for, which in this case is cheap fabric and sloppy alterations. Not to mention that all purchases in store are final. So, if you have to exchange a size you have to do that all through the online site. No bride or bridal party deserves this stress. I WILL NEVER recommend anyone using David's bridal. Extremely disappointed! My so called consultant wasn't any help at all!! I guess because I wasn't buying a $500 dress, she acted as if I was more of a bother than a valued customer! She stood there as I was struggling to find something, instead of acting happy to help me during this very emotional time. I found a couple I was willing to try on she took them to the dressing room, which does not have even a tiny mirror, so you cannot get a glimpse of yourself to see if you even want to go show anyone outside, anyway she hung them in the dressing room and that was about as far as her consulting went! She picked up the dresses and took them into the dressing room! I'm sorry but I didn't feel special at all, every bride to be should be treated special going into a bridal shop. This past weekend my sister in laws (bride and her sister) and myself went shopping for bridesmaids dresses for her wedding. We had a 5pm appointment, and showed up at the exact time of appointment to begin. When we walked up to the check in desk the lady at the desk asked who the bride was and if she ordered her dress from davids. We told her that she did not because she already had a dress. The lady's mood immediately changed and she became very short in conversation with us and said "oh ok" as if she were put off by our answer. She told us we could start looking around until our consultant was ready for us... at about 5:20 and still no sight of anyone to help us I kindly asked when we would begin. She said "in just a few minutes" (again, no sign of a good friendly tone). About 5 min later we were approached by a consultant and asked us how many total bridesmaids are in the wedding we said 8 but only us two were looking today. She asked if the other bridesmaids were getting their dresses at davids too we told her no because they live out of state/town. Her interest in helping us immediately plummeted.. she only wanted us to try on 3 dresses each.. and I insisted on trying on more. The entire hour she was barely spotted. Kept wandering off, and when I found a dresses I like and told her she responded saying "sorry we can't get that one in time for the wedding, in fact I don't like there are many at all we can get in time for the wedding" To me this is terrible customer service. She had NO interest in helping us.. she just kept wandering around and playing on her iPad she was carrying with her. Needless to say, we did not buy dresses from there and DO NOT plan to. read more

The only reason why I am giving them two stars instead of one is because I actually had a good experience when I went in the first time to find my dress. The lady was super sweet and helpful and made good conversation. When I went today for my first fitting is when I realized how terrible this Winston store is. I got there five minutes early for my 1pm appointment. I told them my full name and that i was there for a fitting. The lady at the desk said my appointment was for 1:30. (She had the wrong person with the same first name). When they said they found my information they said they'll have someone right out, which they did. The lady then introduced me and said the associate will assist me in finding my dress...no I already had my dress picked out and needed it fitted..like I had said. Then I had to pay the remained of my balance for the dress before the fitting (that's fine) but the lady was super rude about it when she was explaining that she couldn't accept the check my mom wrote because she wasn't with me (also fine, just don't have to be rude about it). I went back for the fitting and the alterations lady was very not very personable and didn't even bother with small talk. Finally, she told me it would cost $325 for alterations with traditional bustle...I'm sorry but that's a rip off when my dress cost $400. I'll go elsewhere for my alterations especially after the unprofessional, unorganized and rude service I had just received. read more
