If you're planning on going out of town to get your dress, DON'T WASTE YOUR GAS! This David's gave me such a pleasant experience. The staff was so professional and the dress selection was great. I originally went to a David's in California where they butchered my dress for about $700. I tried the dress on a week before my wedding and broke into tears. I could NOT get married in this dress I hated it! So I went to the David's here in Abilene and they took the other David's mess and worked on my dress extremely short notice so I could walk down the aisle happy. These women literally saved my wedding day! They even took the time to talk to the other David's to help offset the price for work that had to be done since the other store did such a poor job. I am on bedrest waiting for surgery. My 18 year old needed a prom dress because she had bought one online that was a scam...took her gift money and ran. My oldest took my senior to this David's Bridal where she was able to try one the most beautiful dress and I got to watch via facetime. She ended up with the most beautiful dress I have ever seen on her, and they were so kind with every step and discount they could find. I could NOT be more grateful. I brought a dress in for my daughter's wedding to be altered, due to the new sign that stated "now offering alteration services". I left the dress and explained what I needed. Came back two weeks later and the job was not done in any correct form or fashion. During my fitting the new woman who was helping me let me know the young man assigned to me learned how to do sewing and alterations watching YouTube videos. She said she could fix it, but after that fitting it looked worse then the first time. Please anyone out there... DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! It is terrible and is heart breaking, as I really did love that dress. In fact, I took it to another tailor in Abilene that let me know, unfortunately it was so messed up she could not fix it. read more

My cousin found the wedding dress of her dreams here. It was very emotional, even the associate helping us cried! I believe her name was McKenzie (I hope I spelled your name right love!) she was AMAZING! she went down to the very last detail on my cousins dress to make it the 10 she deserved! When it came to the bridesmaids dresses she was detailed and helpful, especially with me trying to find a dress comfortable since I'll be 5 months pregnant the day of the wedding hehe... she even found us dresses that'll be here ON TIME! Which of course was very important considering some dresses we looked at would be cutting it way to close to the day of the wedding. We changed our minds a lot and she had so much patience for us and gave us the necessary information we needed. They provided much better customer service than many of the stores in the metroplex area. They treated me like they had time to work with me and let me try things on. The ONLY positive thing I can state about this place is it has reasonable prices. Don't expect great service if you aren't shopping for a wedding gown. We drove 2 Hours to shop for bridesmaid's dresses. We were greeted with, "The dresses are over there." We found out the hard way, Brides get top priority. I purchased a lace and beaded dress that was available in plus sizes, my selected color, and without a train. We had an outdoor wedding and did not want to drag a train around the grass (and didn't want to have a bustle since the material was a little heavy). Also the ceremony and reception were going to be more casual and the chapel train didn't fit the theme for the rest of the event. After ordering the dress, I received a call that the dress could only be created in my size only with a chapel train. I nearly changed my dress order to my second choice dress but the ladies at Abilene's David's Bridal offered to have the train removed by their alteration department since they were misinformed about the train. The dress came out perfectly and the pictures came out beautiful. It was the perfect dress four our casual outdoor wedding. read more

These employees do not care what kind of dress you want, they just want to make a sale. I personally hated my wedding dress. They only let me choose 3 at first to try on, which was okay. But when I told my consultant I wanted to try more on, she wouldn't let me. We were on a tight schedule so I told her we would come back another time and she just kept on trying to persuade me into a dress. I ended up getting it and regretted it the second I walked out of that store. I only got to try one THREE dresses. I specifically told her I didn't want a strapless, and she insisted to it anyway after I told her i didn't want it. Of course that's the one I ended up buying. Which was my fault. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere where they actually care about what you want for your special day. They only want the sales. My experience was about a year ago, however just went with a close friend and they were they EXACT same way. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. The dress was pretty and all but I hate that I didn't get to try on something that I was actually looking for. Still breaks my heart knowing the ONE time in my life I will ever get married was ruined by these people. read more

I bought a wedding dress at David's Bridal. They told me that I needed a larger size dress. I bought the larger size based on their recommendation. When I went to my alteration appointment, I was told that my dress was too large and needed every alteration possible. The suggested alterations were more expensive than the actual dress. When I pointed that out, I was told the lady could do the alterations for me, for a lower price, out of her home. She proceeded to go tell the manager that I could not afford the dress. It was extremely sketchy and an awful experience. read more

We were asked what our wedding dress budget was when we arrived at our appointment - and we told them $500. The attendant was great and we purchased a dress for $499(which was a bit over with tax). All seemed great - and they scheduled us for an appointment for alterations. Never mentioned a cost for the alterations. We went back a month later for the fitting so the dress could be altered, and they totaled the cost up at $405 for the alterations! That cost plus the tax doubled what we had intended to spend on the dress. They seem to have you in a predicament with your daughter loving her dress, and you can't really back out without breaking her heart. And when I thought back, I remembered that they had said we could order the dress in a different color, or with a different length of train - so I'm wondering why they didn't just also suggest that we order it in a smaller size so that the sides with all the beadwork did not have to be taken up so much. Many of the dresses are available in smaller sizes and also in petite sizes we realize now, but we were not told that upfront. Also while we were having the dress fitted, another customer inquired as to how much the alterations would cost, and the alteration lady told the attendant that they would have to buy the dress first and then make an appointment for alterations. The attendant said "they want to know how much the alterations will cost", and the alterations lady just said they will have to buy the dress first and then make the alteration appointment afterward. She refused to give a cost for alterations - even to approximate. So it was very clear that they do this to every customer! They purposely do not tell you what the alterations will cost before you buy the dress. That seems very unprofessional when they have already asked you what your budget is for the dress. If you are a first time shopper, be aware of this tactic, and be prepared to demand a price for alterations and / or the possibility of ordering a dress that is more near the needed size. In speaking with others who have shopped here, they had the same experience - so be aware of this. read more
