I confirmed our appointment that same day and asked what we'd need to bring with us. He didn't respond to my email 2/17 or my follow-up email 3/1. Then after my wife and I took time away from work to be at our 11am appointment, we find that he's meeting with other people. The person who answered the door said he'd meet with us in 20minutes, in which time I called a different and far more organized CPA, with whom I'll be doing business going forward. I showed the lady who answered the door our email exchanges where he said he'd meet us today at 11am and she said she's not the receptionist. Since she was the only other person there, I can only assume that there is no receptionist, and that's why this place can't keep its appointments straight. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! Really? It took the CPA under an hour to plug in all the numbers I provided. My last CPA (retired) charged $350 for the same thing. The office manager was unapologetic when I questioned the outrageous rate. The office is located in a bad part of town and the building is run down.

I met with Marc in the fall…read moreof 2017 to make sure I understood what sort of records he would need from me, since my property is an apartment building and also my primary residence. Then I provided all of my records and tax documentation to Copper Canyon at the beginning of March 2018 - admittedly later than I intended. I was told it would take about 2 weeks for my taxes to be prepared. I didn't hear anything so I called back a few times and was told they hadn't been able to get to my file yet. I called back again on April 10, and only at that point was I told I needed to complete an "organizer" which was many pages long. I filled it out right away and sent it back, didn't hear anything, called again and was told I would have to file an extension. Ultimately my taxes weren't filed until the end of May. I wouldn't even care about that if Copper Canyon's communication had been better throughout the process. I paid $535 for their services and I didn't feel like I mattered to them as a client, so I'm not sure I want to go back. I have no complaints about my actual tax filings - as far as I can tell Marc did a great job sifting through my expenses and preparing my return.

His…read morerates are really reasonable, his office staff are friendly, and I always end up getting a much bigger refund than I had expected, plus he is very skilled at telling me what kinds of things might be flagged for auditing and preparing me for the coming year. I have two businesses and am a contract employee for another, so my finances are pretty complicated. Even so, David charged me less than anyone I used before, he keeps impeccable records, and he always keeps me in the loop. David was recommended by several of my friends after one of the "big name" firms lost all of my paperwork, and I'm glad I switched. I have to say that it's also great to know that my accountant is available throughout the year should something come up outside of a typical tax season. Perhaps best of all, though, is that David is just a friendly guy. He runs an interfaith meditation group and does a lot of service work, and it's nice to know that my accountant is a stand-up guy who's active in the Tucson community. One final note: last year I got my information to him too late, and he had to file an extension for me. I was prepared for a huge hassle, but he handled it beautifully, as if it wasn't a big deal at all.

Fast forward 6 months after taxes had been filed and we had issues with both states saying we didn't provide certain items. We tried contacting our lady to help us or explain what was going on and she NEVER responded! Not to emails, not to phone calls, nothing! We ended up having to deal with each entity on our own and figuring it out - which took months. We were do disappointed that we never went back and felt like we wasted a lot of money for something we ended up having to do ourselves anyways.
