This is the story of an ordinary man who was saved by an extra ordinary tax attorney, David Monypeny...My story begins shortly after 911 and the collapse of the World Trade Center. Like everyone else at that time I was glued to the television in the aftermath of the destruction. The stock market crashed and I entered the market as a novice day trader. I didn't know very much about anything, but the market had lost so much value you could hardly lose when you were buying in on the ground floor of every company. I quickly became a victim of my on success and stupidity. I became obsessed with trading, I was addicted to the action, and over the course of the next two years I bought, sold and traded over 7000 companies. Sometimes I would make thirty or forty trades a day, at $10 per trade and the trading companies loved me. I would buy a company in the morning, sell it at noon, and then buy it back again before the market closed at 3 pm...then I would be depressed until the market reopened the next day...I hated weekends and holidays, because I was out of the action...I couldn't sleep at night because I was so excited that I couldn't wait for the morning bell to go off so that I could stare at my computer screen for another eight hours, and make more trades. I was neglecting my rental property business and my tenants, my family, and my friends...I was living in cyberspace...Finally my family and friends cared enough about me to recognize what was happening,and to see that I was addicted to day trading. They pulled an intervention on me and helped me see the results of my selfish actions, because I couldn't...Shortly thereafter I got away from the market and started refocusing on living my life again and on what was important...However the damage was done, and this stupid ordinary guy was 1099'ed by the trading companies for making $2,300,000.00 over that two year period of time. I didn't know where all that money went to because I had no more than when I started. I had been like a slot junkie at the casino's where I would hit one sot machine for a large jackpot, and then spend the jackpot putting it in the machine next to it as fast as I could pull the slot machine handle...I woke up one morning a year or so later, still an ordinary guy, but I owed the IRS 2.3 million dollars with interest...I didn't know what to do or where to turn...The IRS placed a lien on all of my properties... It was just before I was getting ready to place the barrel of my 38 Special into my mouth and pull the trigger that a friend told me about David Monypeny, and the rest is Monypeny history...to make a long story shorter, not only did David Monypeny save my life, he got my IRS tax liability lowered to just over thirty thousand dollars...I put that along with attorney fees on to a credit card and spent the next seven years paying back credit cards and interest...The moral of the story is that it is better to be alive and in the "Red", than dead and in the "Black" where there is no coming back...I am back, alive and well and kicking financial Butt on all my competitors, and I owe it all to Monypeny...
