Wayne Andrews the owner said they were going to refund the money that I paid for the chimney cap but I have yet seen a check, Also the metal roof over the master bedroom looks like a 5 year old did the work. Instead of laying metal roofing panel over the area and take the time to do it right they just laid metal sheet roofing over the area. They lied from the very beginning. I was told they would start within 2 weeks of contract and had their own crews who had been with them for years. Instead 4 months later they show up with a crew of Mexicans who could not speak English except for the foreman. This crew walked throughout our gutters pulling some from the fascia. All in all they are the absolute worst contractors I have ever dealt with. This includes contractors on 2 50 million dollar projects I have run.

I contacted him MANY times to try to get him to come back and look at the issue and fix it. I got one return phone call, but then he never showed up for the appointment. Then after months of leaving voicemails, no more returned calls. Finally, I had to contact someone else to fix it at my own expense. It cost $800 to repair on the exterior. Still waiting for estimates to fix the interior mold/issues it caused. The contractor who fixed it let me know the leaks were a result of Chonko not installing flashing, instead of flashing he used liquid tar, which does a fair job but looses its seal as it heats and cools, as such flashing is required by code. So he basically did not do what I paid for and didn't even do the job to legal standards. So now I'm sure I will have more issues in other sections of my roof as time continues and will either have to continue to pay $1K a pop or just redo my whole roof again when I paid for 30 year shingles and craftsmanship.

We hired The same company , bcz it was fast and good first time. We were happy until insurance inspector came and noticed a crack in the Stucco from what he said bad roofing job , clear negligence, He advised us to fix it, call to those who placed the roof or it is gonna leak inside the wall. I called the Wilson. They came and said they didn't do it, the crack. They probably realize they messed up and didn't wanna deal with repairs. By the way, there was a lot of nails and leftovers left on the grass. They never picked it up. I even sold those shingles they left. Anyway, I never had money to call somebody and to fix the problem. So now in 2026 the stucco cracked the wall all the way down to floor, bcz there is no wood left, all rotten. Leaking inside the wall and inside the garage. All this happened because of this little crack, and missing flashing, we found only now (little cheap part) roofers did in 2019 Someone said about them over pricing. It's true. In 2017 the roof cost for us 13k . In 2019 it was 16k ADDED: I m abt to file law suit against this company. Bcz now repair estimates is $20k+ , and if they won't find shingles they need, we need replace the whole roof!!!

Weather delayed the planned start until at least the following day. On the following day, the business called just before noon saying they would no longer honor the estimate. Having had the estimate I signed for 22 days, they now said their new estimate would be about four times as much, many times higher than other estimates I have since turned down. I find their business practice as highly unreputable. Consumer beware.

The roof was repaired within a month of the hurricane and upon inspection the County Inspector said this was one of the best roof repairs he has seen. The Melvin and Sons were very kind, considerate and patient with me as I went through the claim process. Always keeping up to date on the status of the claim. I your want a company that reflects integrity, I would go with BJ Melvin and Sons. I hope I don't have to use them again, but if I do - I welcome back.
