This review is not directed to any particular agent, I just don't know how to post an in general Disappointment with this Insurance Company without going through an agent.
This is my experience: My poor, elderly 82 year old mother has Allstate for her House Insurance. With San Diego's horrific storms last week, her add-on patio room was greatly damaged. The patio's roof became folded in and tilted down, aiming directly into her back door like a funnel for all of the mud and rain water to pour into her home. Needless to say, the whole patio room and everything in that patio was a complete loss. Allstate will take care of the whole patio, but since my mother did not have flood insurance, she is responsible for all of the flood damage in her home - which is a Lot of damage.
I'm very Disappointed in Allstate as there wouldn't have been flood damage if it weren't for the structure damage. The flood wasn't from ground water - only from the bent roof acting as a funnel stright into her home. It just doesn't seem fair. She didn't get flood insurance because she essentially lives on top of a hill - no reason it should ever flood. Now she is feeling depressed and very overwhelmed. She feels like she's going to go broke. Not good for an elderly woman to have to suffer like this. She is currently staying with me (and feeling displaced) as she can't even live in her own home until all of the repairs are made.
I just don't think that she was "in Good Hands with Allstate." read more
