SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!!!!I wish I had done my research before hiring this law firm and trusting them…read morewith my hard-earned money. I paid for my bankruptcy back in April 2025, and it's now November 2025, seven months later absolutely nothing has been filed. Charles did absolute nothing with my case. Month after month, I called and emailed asking for updates, and every time I was told someone would "get back to me." No one ever did.. What makes it worse is how convincing Charles was in the beginning. He comes across as kind, patient, and professional during the consultation just to gain your trust. But once they have your money, that's where the professionalism ends. You won't hear from anyone again, and your case will sit untouched. I finally asked for a refund, and still haven't received it. This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've ever had with a business. They took my money, wasted my time, and gave me nothing in return. Update 11/26/2025 I spoke to Charles on 11/10 and he gave me a fedex tracking number and told me I would receive my refund in two days. Two weeks and no refund. I had to go up to his office today, the day before Thanksgiving and DEMAND my refund. He kept blaming the delay on his "accountant". HE IS SCAMMER !!! DO NOT HIRE HIS OFFICE TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. I am also reporting him to the BBB and the AGC.

I can't speak about the quality of service provided since I did not end up hiring this firm. From…read moreother reviews, I assume that good service is provided. The Yelp reviews are why I contacted this office in the first place. The main reason I did not go with this firm is that a consultation for 30 minutes would cost $99. I am seeking legal help because of debt so I would think that at the minimum, consultation would be free because most if not all of the clientele are seeking help for financial troubles. So just from that consultation fee, I surmised that the cost would be too high for me. It might end up costing me more than my initial debt. I could be wrong but I was not quoted any other fees as I requested. For all I know, the rates could be very reasonable but that is not the impression I got. Update: I increased the rating to 4 stars because Jesse Langel contacted me directly to address my concerns and advise me. I applaud his concern over customer relations and his thoughtfulness in reaching out to me and helping me as much as he could and his promise to continue to advise me if needed. My debt is not very large so the cost effectiveness of hiring Jesse is, unfortunately, probably not in the cards. This is why I can't in good conscience give 5 stars since I won't be able to see his work but I got to see some of his integrity. I do recommend that if you have a need for an attorney, Jesse Langel has at the very least demonstrated that he cares and will be there for you. I think that's an important quality for anyone, to just show up.

By 6/5/25 their team of lawyers failed to give me a proper analysis of my case. I asked for a refund. I had to pay over 5000.00 just for P&N to tell me that they still had not a full analysis of my case. The lawyer I spoke to was not even a real estate lawyer. I had to find another lawyer to take my case. This was an absolute waste of time, energy and money.

I am extremely disappointed with the consultation I received from attorney Stephen Bilkis through…read moremy prepaid legal service plan. My plan specifically includes attorney consultations, legal advice, review of up to 10 pages of documents, contracts and letters, attorney-written demand letters on a member's behalf, and other legal services. The plan also requires participating attorneys to respond within 8 hours or by the next business day. Despite that requirement, I had to wait approximately five business days just to obtain an appointment. When the appointment finally occurred, the consultation lasted less than five minutes. Before I could fully explain my situation, Mr. Bilkis repeatedly interrupted me and stated that my only option was to file a lawsuit and that hiring him would cost between $7,000 and $10,000. I explained that I was not seeking representation at that time. I was seeking legal guidance through benefits I already pay for. However, I was told that he could not provide meaningful advice without reviewing documents and that doing so would require an additional payment of approximately $2,500, despite document review being one of the benefits included in my legal plan. Every attempt to ask general questions regarding my options, possible outcomes, or potential legal scenarios was met with interruptions. At one point, Mr. Bilkis stated, "I know what you're trying to do," as though I was attempting to obtain something improperly, when I was simply trying to use the services included in my membership. I was not asking for free legal work. I was attempting to use services that I already pay for. Instead of receiving legal guidance, I felt pressured toward paid representation and was unable to obtain any meaningful advice. The conversation ended before I was even allowed to fully explain my situation. This experience was dismissive, unprofessional, and inconsistent with the purpose of a prepaid legal service referral. Fortunately, my legal plan has since referred me to another attorney who is willing to provide the services and guidance that members are entitled to receive.

Our repeated feedback has fallen on deaf ears and the process keeps being dragged as ball falls on our court while we are ready with all documents for submission. I imagine they are overworked or overburdened but this shouldn't happen to cases they have already decided to work on. While Sunjae was initially very responsive to our questions, once a payment was made responses haven't been timely and work on our forms had plenty missing and mistaken information on very basic aspects. We didn't receive any apologies after pointing these out and corrections and revisions take forever for them to make. Disappointed and wouldn't recommend. Making an addition here following the filing of our case. Sunjae filed the same picture as evidence for two different occasions despite our well organized folders of pictures as a couple. When I pointed the mistake out, no apologies, and coming up with suggestions as to how "we" as the couple can correct it.... I am baffled and really recommending against this company.

I originally filled out their web form before August 2020 and got no response. Then I called on August 2nd and was transferred from the receptionist to Sunjae Lee. I never received the email and 2 weeks past before I emailed them at their info@jcklaw. First email.. ignored. Second email was where I asked, "Is anyone reading emails?" I finally got a reply with a simple 'sorry for the late reply.' This has been one month since I first tried contacting them. He told me two options. How do I want to proceed. I laid out my plan and wanted to try another method, and it's been nearly a month with no response again. I believe they are only looking for "cookie cutter" cases. Where every case can be churned/processed with minimal effort on the lawyers part. Any case that seems to require innovative thinking or sharpening their barrister skills, instead of just filing paperwork for clients gets ignored but not turned down, just wait it out till the potential client finds another law firm.
