After narrowing down our choices to two realtors, we requested proposals for selling our house from each of them. These proposals included information about the costs of necessary repairs and upgrades as well as estimated selling prices. During the interviews, it became evident that we were entering a buyers' market, which may limit our ability to achieve the desired selling price. In the end we chose Kaelin. Her proposal kept us within our budget for repairs and upgrades, and she was confident that she could sell the home for its fair market value. Our other 'finalist' was not so positive on achieving those goals. One of the daunting aspects of preparing to sell a home is finding reliable and trustworthy contractors to undertake the necessary work to prepare the property. Once you have these contractors, you need to ensure they begin work as soon as possible. Additionally, you must closely monitor the progress of the work to ensure it is completed on time and in the manner you desire. This becomes particularly difficult for owners selling a home that is located far from their primary residence, making it challenging to meet with contractors and monitor the progress. Kaelin truly shines in this role. She already knew the contractors we needed and managed to get them to provide us with quotes. Once approved, she swiftly put them on the job and ensured timely completion of the work. Initially, the ambitious goals we set together at the project's beginning seemed a bit too demanding, but we managed to meet them. When a buyer wanted to make an offer before the house went on the market, she made sure it was a strong and compelling offer that aligned with the high end of the sales price range she had specified in her original proposal. She also didn't hesitate to incur the cost of staging the property (she pays for this), as this demonstrated our readiness to proceed with other offers if theirs wasn't satisfactory. Long story short, she made it happen. We ended up putting in less money than we planned in repairs and upgrades and sold the property right at the high end of what she said she could do. We found Kaelin very easy (even fun) to work with over the 2.5-3 month timeframe as we went from planning and starting repairs & upgrades to closing escrow.

I was trying to buy a house from out of town, on an extremely tight schedule, and she made it happen. Bri was aggressive and firm when needed, but otherwise wonderfully sweet and chill, I loved working with her! I only had two months to get my preapproval, find a house, make competitive offer, and then try to get through closing while I was out of the country. Bri looked into any house that I was interested, she was very proactive and would always just call the realtor and find out all the information. She was great at advising me of houses may sell for over list, or houses that she thought were likely going to get a price drop and that I could be a little more aggressive with my negotiating. Any house I was interested in she went to go see for me, taking videos on her iPhone so that I could feel like I was walking through the house with her. It was pretty great to get the "real "view of it, not a staged image. It was Bri walking through with her phone and commenting on the space as she saw it. So if something smelled weird or had a lot of light, I got all those comments and I felt like I had really been able to evaluate the houses because of that. Ultimately I found a house that I thought was absolutely spectacular. There were many other interested parties (and I didn't have much room to bid up!) but Bri got a strong offer in really quickly and fortunately it was accepted! I had two days to plan a trip up to Santa Cruz, to see the house for the first time, and make sure this is the house that I really wanted to buy. I was leaving the country in two days, and really needed to make sure everything was set up well. Bri arranged to have a contractor come out they day of my visit, so we could look through the home inspection together and evaluate what kind of work the house may need. It was really important to me, as it this is my first home that I've ever bought. And without a lot of handyman type experience I didn't want to get into something that was way over my head. While I was meeting with the contractor, we noticed that there were some items that really needed to be looked at by a plumber. Bri disappeared for about 10 minutes, when she came back she informed me that a plumber would be here in 10 minutes! So on my one tight day I was able to go through everything and feel very confident that this was the house that I wanted to buy. It was absolutely incredible. The rest of the time I was in contract, I was out of the country, but despite this Bri helped me get through every stage. And as always there are issues. There turned out to be some major issues with the roof on the property, which is not what I wanted to hear while I was halfway across the world sleep deprived reading contracts at two in the morning trying to figure out what I was doing. Bri coordinated times that we could still talk even though we are in different time zones, and she informed me that she would have her roofer out the very next day, and sent me pictures of everything so I knew exactly what the situation was. She was able to leverage this to get the seller to pay for the new roof, so in the end everything got fixed because of Bri's help and now I am in the house my dreams. I highly recommend Bri as a realtor, even after closing my house she's continued to help me with all my random questions about how to fix up the house or different resources in Santa Cruz.
