This 5-star rating has been earned by Kim Nowalk, specifically. (more on that below) Kim was THE most helpful realtor for our home buying purchase. She always responded within 24 hours (I'm pretty sure she always responded within a couple hours...) and, when we got into the nitty gritty of our home buying process, consistently had helpful, smart, tactical feedback for us. When we were just looking at houses, she was also very helpful: - gave good info on houses and the neighborhood, area and schools - didn't pressure is into anything - let us know what to watch out for - recommended good partners to use when going through the process I had worked with another group at this KW office and I have to say they were less than stellar. I don't want to name names but they had nothing good to offer and were horrible w customer service. So, again, I am only speaking to Kim Nowalk and her team. We have worked with realtors in NJ where we moved from and here in MD. I would say it again and again: she was such a pleasure to work with and I would be proud to reccomend her to others to work with. read more

Stay away! The Simply Referable Team in the Keller Williams Realty Centre was difficult to deal with, non-responsive, didn't go through with the appraiser at all, failed at communicating the simplest instructions, and was only about making money. I dealt with one of their listing agents, and he was about making money off the deal. In fact, the seller fired him during our deal, but had to follow through with him because we had a contract. He made things infinitely more difficult by regularly failing to communicate between buyer and seller. I'm glad it's over and plan to avoid them for all future deals. read more

I wish I could leave negative stars or a quarter of a star. Our experience with agent Donyiel Rountree was horrible. We were subjected to repeated lies and her refusal to listen to us again and again. She lied almost habitually, telling us one thing then telling us the opposite a week later. She did ZERO marketing on our house outside of harassing our neighbors with repeated phone calls, telling them to tell all their friends and family about our house. She did ZERO social media marketing aside from ONE Facebook Live post that was done on her personal page for only her friends and family to see. She also told us of her plan to lie to potential buyers, saying she would "tell them other offers had come in" so she could "create a bidding war." We told her we were not comfortable with her lying to potential buyers. I have no idea if she did or not since she did not ultimately sell our house - I did. I took all the pictures for the listing, even though she promised to send a professional photographer. She did not. I took and edited all the pictures. Then she took her own pictures and posted them on the listing in their original format, leaving them dark and unedited. I had to edit her pictures, too! I made a video for our house; she did not send a professional to make a video as she had promised. I did all the photography and video work on this listing. She took pictures of my house for her own personal use. She loved my Christmas decorations and took pictures for her own use. She took pictures of our pets for her own personal use. She left us feeling violated in this way. She did ZERO marketing on agent forums and, as a result, our house was not seen by agents and brokers. She held a broker's open but could not get more than 6 people to come. We were out of our house for 5 hours that day and no viable buyers were brought to the open house. She held numerous open houses and no one came to most and one or two came to a couple. She left us feeling violated as though she was just using our house for her own pleasure for hours on end since no one came to the open houses. She always had someone with her, too, and we don't know what they did in our house. At one point, I asked her if she was running social media ads and she said, "Oh, I've been meaning to do that. I need to hire a 10-year-old." I tried repeatedly to teach her how to do Facebook ads, but she was completely unwilling to earn. We were in a difficult situation, running out of resources and needed to sell our house. The ONLY solution she offered was to lower the price, which we did repeatedly on her advice. I regret that now because I believe we could have gotten a higher price for our house. Finally, after reaching a point of total exasperation with her, I created a Facebook Business Page for our house, ran five ads - yes, only five - and our house sold - in five days - as a direct result of my Facebook ads. The buyers saw our house on Realtor.com.....because Realtor.com had picked up on my ads and they featured our house as their top promotion, getting the attention of our buyers. This was a direct result of my Facebook ads. Donyiel Rountree did not sell our house. I sold our house. I sold our house in a five-day period of time after she let it sit on the market for 2 months doing nothing. We fired her. She was fired. She was inept. However, because the buyer made an offer before her dismissal was official, we had to reinstate her for the closing. I was infuriated by this because she did NOT earn her commission. She got her entire commission, uses my house to promote her "ability" to sell, and accused me of harassment when I asked her not to use our house to promote herself since she did not sell our house. She admitted that I sold our house........yet she walked away with her full commission and is now sending out fliers featuring our house with the claim, "Donyiel does it again!" No, Donyiel did not sell our house. I sold our house and she's claiming the sale. Steer clear of this agent and her broker. read more

The agent I worked with had poor time management. I had to contact her to see some condos. We go one day and I did not like the options I was shown and I was told make a decision soon. In the end, I had to stay where I was originally and ended up losing up money to pay for fees. I felt as if I was not a priority. Additionally, when I shared with the agent how I felt, she got defensive and not once had the courtesy to apologize. read more

We were originally approved to rent a home (8505 Ivoryton Way, Montgomery Village MD 20886). The move-in date was 9/8/20. On 9/7/20 the realtor withdraw the lease confirmation due to my daughter's disability. The realtor's name is Luis Bautista. As a former licensed real estate agent myself, I understand the general process. Luis Bautista's actions were egregious. A complaint has been filed with the Maryland Real Estate Commission. One even tried to cover up flaws at a place we looked at! Kim Nowalk of Keller Williams is the best. She helped us find a rental home and our subsequent new home purchase. I didn't think we would need a Realtor for a new home but she helped us find a home we didn't know was available and helped us negotiate some extras. She helped us navigate through the sales and closing process and even sent us a copy of our HUD-1 around tax time! This business has harassed us every Monday, soliciting our business aggressively and sometimes disrespectfully, despite politely being told 'no' many times. They go to training on Mondays. They are given a list of "for sale by owner" homes to cold call. We have been on the list 2 weeks in a row now despite including in our listing that we are not interested in agent solicitations. One of them even weasled her way into our home under the guise that she was looking on behalf of a client, then began her aggressive sales pitch. I wish I had read Jay H. review before we worked with the broker and her "best" agent at Keller Williams in Columbia. We actually signed a contract and when the inspection report pointed out some major problems with the house, the broker had a tantrum because we terminated the contract. Then they took their sweet time returning our deposit of $10k--it took them a month. They had one excuse after another why it was late. The broker is an ego maniac with a nasty temper and our agent was her sidekick. It was a total waste of time and money. I've never worked with such unprofessional people! read more

I try not to do lengthy reviews but this lady is exceptional. I worked with Kenita Tang who is a phenomenal realtor!! It's hard to find the words to describe how much I love working with her. Myself and my husband are just a few days away from closing on our house and she has been outstanding from beginning to end. She has gone above and beyond for us. She is extremely knowledgeable and very professional and personable. Not to mention, she has an awesome team that she works with who has been a Godsend to us. Latarsha Riddick has worked very hard for us as well and knows her stuff. I wish I had used Kenita's lender but unfortunately I had started the process with a different lender and then I found Kenita who was referred to me. The first home we liked had so many needed repairs that we were trying to negotiate on. We almost gave in because we were tired of looking for a house. I'm so grateful for Kenita's gut instinct and professional guidance which kept us from settling. Another one of the countless things about Kenita that stood out to me; we had found another home that popped up on Kenita's listings that we LOVED while Kenita happened to be (literally on a Ferry boat) heading on vacation with her family. I loved this house so much I almost cried when I saw so many other people liking it at the open house. That didn't stop Kenita and Latarsha from getting an offer to the seller's agent in less than 6 HOURS which beat out MULTIPLE strong offers! Kenita got my house and I'm so excited to close in just a few days. Kenita truly knows everything sales and real estate in her sleep (laws, rules, timelines etc.) She treats us like family. She is constantly working so it's hard to believe that she actually gets any sleep. She and her team always informs us of what's going on every step of the way and guided us to overcome so many obstacles that came up with the lending process etc. Even the inspector she uses (Andy) is the absolute best. If there is an issue, he will find it. You can rest assure that you will be an informed buyer. In the future we plan to make more real estate related moves and Kenita Tang will always be my go to person and I will refer everyone I know to her and her team.
