They took it too seriously, like literally. They called me down to the office again, and said he felt uncomfortable. I get he felt uncomfortable, but instead of trying to solve the problem and say, "hey, I felt uncomfortable, please dont to that again", he told on me! It was only a joke. I liked how small the classes were and everything felt very personal and intimate. The teachers cared a lot about the students, and we went on fun school trips. The academics were somewhat challenging, but not unrealistic. We had a dance or two, wish we had more. But a lot of the kids weren't into that kind of stuff. Small, cute, hippy, crunchy/granola type school. The social scene at this school was okay. I didn't make a ton of new friends, but there were some nice kids there. The only bad thing was that a girl from the middle school decided to transfer here the same time I did, and then when we both graduated from this school (only goes until 8th grade), she followed me to the high school. Obviously this wasn't the school's fault, but that is a bad memory I have there.

That's one of the issues with this school. Almost nobody is a mean person. But a lot of them are bad at their job, or average. Some are great. Honestly, if you want your kids to be challenged, they should go here. Tell them to advocate for themselves, and to never stop. This school has become increasingly difficult. I like this quote, "Children are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded." This school has definitely taught me how unfair the world is, and how you shouldn't trust people. The education I received at this school was subpar at best. When I began attending a public high school, I was behind, especially in math. Many of the teachers at the school were cruel and short tempered, for example I remember the preschool teachers yelling at the toddlers when they grew impatient. The after school care program was under supervised and dangerous. I remember protecting young children from being hit in the head with flying basketballs, and keeping them out of the unsupervised trouble they would have gotten into. I remember in one instance a child around 4-5 fell and inverted his elbow. it took several minutes to attract the attention of the adult who was meant to be supervising him. Moving away from the negligence and back to the subpar education, the seventh and eighth grade teacher who taught at the school for many years was under qualified and should have been fired many, many times (to my knowledge she has recently retired). We were publicly embarrassed in front of the class for low grades on projects and essays, which lead to severe stress for my friends and me. I have not felt such severe stress doing anything as I did attending school every day for those last two years. Our grades did not depend on our skill level, but rather how much that teacher liked us. She frequently lashed out and screamed at students bringing them to the point of tears for trivial reasons. We were not "bad", nobody misbehaved because we were terrified of the embarrassment, it was always over something academic, which is ridiculous. You should not punish a kid for failing, you should teach them how to do better. Our lessons revolved heavily around religion most days, which may seem like a good thing to many religious folks out there, however, I feel that I was robbed of the education my parents payed thousands for. Route 2 goes right into the middle of campus where you can see a delightful range of classic New England architectural styles in a rural setting with peaceful views of the surrounding mountains. First, the mid-morning information session was well-organized with a senior associate director (who was a Williams alumna) and rising sophomore from Seattle. Second, we did the 45 minute walking campus tour with a junior from Philadelphia who was refreshingly honest about her experiences. In contrast to Amherst College (which we visited the day before), Williams had a more organized and polished information session. One could see personal and specific examples of various Williams alumni being proactive in helping current students. Finally, the campus did not impose a KN-95 mask requirement. Overall, it's a lovely campus that is worth a stop if you're in this neck of the woods in the northern Berkshires!
