Great experience with Dr. Sara with nerve pain in my shoulder. Carrying my one year old really messed with my neck/shoulder and made it so carrying him for even a short period of time or turning my neck too far was a struggle. She helped me with getting my nerves back in order and the pain has significantly reduced after a a few sessions! My advice for anyone is to be diligent about the homework as it totally made a difference for me. Thank you! read more

This review is long overdue. I saw Sara a couple times in the past and I want to thank her for her professionalism. She took the time to ask questions really trying to understand how to help me better after I threw my back out. In our first session we tried different stretches targeting my low back, adding an adjustment as my low back was still sensitive. Before I walked out of her office I was already feeling the relief. She gave me homework (customized stretches) to continue to heal and strengthen my low back. I came back a second time a week or two later for a checkup. Sara asked more questions and we added new stretches and did a few more adjustments. Again, I felt so much better. I haven't been back since. Thank you Sara! read more

I met Sara at a health and wellness event that the company I work for was hosting. Dash Chiropractic was one of the vendors on hand, and I stopped by their booth, and struck up a conversation with Sara. It was a well-timed chance meeting as I had recently been experiencing some lower back pain. After a quick assessment on the spot, I was definitely intrigued if Dash could help me. Sara sent me a follow up email that night, and the next day I responded and decided to make an appt. That is one of the best decisions I have ever made! I run for fitness purposes, and the back issues was making running difficult, in addition to making bending over a literal pain. Sara worked with me on exercises to first alleviate the pain, and then once the pain was gone, shifted the focus to strengthening the muscles involved in supporting the lower back. She would go through the exercises with me during my appointments, and then she would assign them as "homework". I was diligent in doing the exercises and noticed steady improvement. I am now back to my pre-back issue running form, as well as able to bend over pain free. I owe it all to Sara. While my issue involved my back, she can help treat many other issues as well. I highly recommend her! Not only is she great at what she does, but she is also super nice, and has a great bedside manner! read more

This review is embarrassingly overdue! Thank you Dr. Sara Van Dyke, as I have told you repeatedly: "You have the magic touch!" and "You broke the code to help alleviate my feet and low back pains from excruciating and debilitating pains to many occasions pain free." It is because of you that 'today' I am back to having a normal active lifestyle. Your guidance allowed me to reintroduce what I love: Bike riding, taking long 1 to 2 hour walks (where 30 minutes were extremely painful, limping back home), and being able to get out of a car in seconds instead of 5 - 10 minutes. From 2020 to 2023 I suffered piercing low back and dual feet pain, feeling I was slowly falling apart, and fighting depression. Thanks to my friend who insisted I meet you and speak with you which resulted in the best decision in my life. Seeing that my husband is no longer stressed for me because he had to wait and help me out of the car, all this is so exciting and gives me that feeling of independence again. You taught me exercises that stretch my spine to relieve my spinal stenosis; i.e., those extremely debilitating and paralyzing - sharp pains are now rare. Your attention to my needs and showing me the way to maintain my health in the right direction, are the greatest gift. It is now over 6 months that I have had a fabulous almost pain free active lifestyle. Your are a blessing! Thank you for breaking the code and 'fixing me!' And as you said: "Discipline in doing my homework is also key." THANK YOU!!! read more

Dr. Sara Van Dyke has made amazing progress with me in just the first few visits. I'm looking forward to the continued improvements that will allow me to enjoy long walks again. I have been suffering from spinal stenosis of the lower back for many years which has resulted in the inability to walk more than a half block without pain and numbness. With her methodical analysis and detailed questioning, she is already discovering exercises and stretches that have begun to eleviate my back problems. It's uplifting to have such positive results so early in the treatments. read more

Dr. Sara Van Dyke has been a huge help in getting me back to 100%. I've been having neck issues for a little over a year before I met her. My symptoms have made doing daily tasks difficult, especially when working a job that is physically demanding. I would have a sharp pain when turning my neck and lifting with my right arm. It was to a point where I couldn't get a good night's rest. Meeting with Dr. Sara was straight forward. She provided me with several exercises to do every two weeks, with meetings that were either virtual or in-person. At each meeting, I would communicate my progress and note any changes. Then, based on my results, we would adjust exercises to meet our goal. Right away, I was feeling relief from symptoms, but it definitely took a while for my symptoms to go away completely. Sara is well versed in the human body, so she makes it a point to have her patients understand how these symptoms occur. Unfortunately, the severity of my symptoms and the duration that I've had them for, made it difficult to finally reach our goal. Thankfully, with her experties, I returned to work and daily tasks pain-free. read more

Sara is the best there is. She listens and really takes her time to figure things out, offering really extensive solutions both in-office and as homework to help you both heal and get stronger to prevent injury long-term. Sara is AMAZING! It was my first time seeing a PT, and I admitted to her that I felt a bit nervous. She made me feel comfortable and eased my stress on the first visit. She cares about her patients and is so personable. I miss our visits, but I am glad I am no longer injured, lol. read more

I'm a local elite runner and a high school cross country/ track and field coach. I was having some issues with my hamstring right in the middle of my track season. Sara truly understands the athletes perspective and state of mind better than others - with focus on getting me able to run again as quickly as possible; even running while I'm recovering. As I saw her I had a big race I was gearing up for and she was able to get me training again within 2 days. I saw her 2 more times after that and she worked with me on small but powerful exercises and stretches that were key to my success. Truly grateful for her patience and work ethic. Beyond her athletic mindset and goal oriented service, she is extremely knowledgeable in body mechanics and asks tons of questions so she can really pin point the issue and find the best way to treat it. Overall, I recommend her to everyone, especially if you are an athlete mid-season trying to regain control of your training! read more

Dr Sara has a pragmatic approach to helping athletes through injury and rehab. I came to her with chronic low back pain due to movements in CrossFit, olympic weightlifting, and deadlifts. Prior to Dr Sara I'd seen numerous practitioners over 50+ visits. With Dr Sara she immediately identifies how to reproduce the pain as a baseline then worked to identify movements to reduce the pain, and after root cause identified prescribes exercises to strengthen areas to prevent the pain. We were also able to work on deadlift mechanics. We accomplished this over 4 visits and my performance has increased and no longer have to take days off to recover from low back pain. I highly recommend Dr Sara for any sports medicine related rehab as she has a high level of knowledge, science based approach, and is an athlete herself. read more

Dr. Sarah is stellar! Very talented doctor. Dr. Sara is a magnificent doctor! Before jumping into solutions, she really spends the time she feels she needs to get the diagnostics correct. For me, this difference was so evident versus experiences I've had in the past. She is an athlete that truly wants to help people get back to moving and doing the things they love. Every case is different. But in mine, I was having great difficulty walking when I initially saw her. Excruciating pain to even get out of bed. Within a few weeks, I was back in the gym. Amazing. Very grateful. read more

Dr. Sara Van Dyke is amazing. If your an athlete or runner she is the Chiropractor for you. She does a full comprehensive work up. Prescribes you exercises, demonstrates them for you, does them with you, and even holds you accountable. I was looking for a practitioner that could not only adjust me, but give me exercises to improve my spinal health, and most importantly help me strengthen my core for a chronic condition. DR. Sara also referred me to a dietician, whom I LOVE; and has given me several other referrals to other ancillary services. Dr. Sara really takes the time to get to know each and every one of her patients and makes sure holistically they are cared for. I'm so honored to have found her and keeping her as part of my healthcare team. read more

I came to Dr Sarah because I had a tweaked neck from jujitsu, a tender lower back from racquetball, and my left hip was stiff from golf. Dr Sara assessed my range of motion first and then prescribed me a series of movements and exercises as homework. With each followup visit she would reassess my range and adjust my homework exercises/movements. It took about 5 weeks, a visit a week, to completely feel pain free, with full range of motion. I recommend Dr. Sara to any athlete looking to get back in the game. She is not your typical crack you and send you on your way, to feel the same in a few hours. I have been to at least 10 different chiropractors in the last 4 years looking for real help. I finally found the real deal. Thank you Dr. Sara! read more

Dr. Sara is awesome. I had a nagging shoulder injury from CrossFit, so I went to see Dr. Sara to see if she can help. She took the time to study my body and see what the problem could be. She did a combo of PT and adjustments and that made me think differently about chiropractic medicine. She found the problem and gave me exercises to do at home. During the entire process I felt like I was always improving and she knew exactly where she wanted to go the treatment. Even better she didn't force sessions on me. I highly recommend anyone that has an injury and has had bad experiences with chiropractors to go see Dr Sara. She will change your mindset after one session. read more

I could not recommend Dr. Sara enough times! I came to her in early January after a one-off knee injury caused by overuse. As an avid runner my whole life, who has never experienced this kind of set back, I was skeptical about the healing process and the state of my injury overall and just wanted to get back to doing what I loved as soon as possible. Within around 2 months, I was able to run again with little to no pain, and am now pain & nerve injury free! Dr. Sara takes so much care of each of her patients needs and concerns, and was so communicative and helpful during my entire healing and physical therapy process. She is also easy to get ahold of if you have any questions or concerns about your treatment in between appointments. As well as being extremely kind and compassionate about your injury, she is incredibly knowledgeable, as she is a runner herself, which definitely eased my initial apprehensions towards receiving treatment and going to physical therapy. I am on my feet many hours of the day, and through a series of virtual visits including home exercises, my issue resolved completely. Dr. Sara Van Dyke is an truly amazing sports medicine chiropractor. As a competitive Masters level runner, I struggled with a high hamstring injury. I was so discouraged as my training was at a high level and suddenly I was hardly able to walk or get out of the car without severe pain. Within one session, Dr. Sara diagnosed my injury by running me through a series of tests. She evaluates you as a whole and immediately saw the root of my injury. With her guidance, I began a series of strengthening exercises that I would religiously do on a daily basis. Within only ONE WEEK!!! I was back out there running and my injury continued to improve week by week. She was truly incredible and knows how to prime the body to achieve because she is a highly competitive runner herself. The Icing on the cake was thanks to Dr. Van Dyke I was able to compete at the Master's National Championships this year, strong a pain free. While many doctors might sideline a runner with an injury like mine, she worked with me and proved that "Total Rest" is not always the answer to injuries. She addresses the root of the injuries which is often muscle weaknesses and for this I am so grateful. I will continue to work with Dr. Van Dyke as I can think of nobody better than her to guide me through the rehabilitation and injury preventable process. read more

I had been looking for a Chiropractor for months and I just did not want to start one which only ask you to come daily or every week to crack your back or shoulders. I do run and ride my bike very often and I wanted a more comprehensive assessment of how to recover properly. When I found Dr. Sara which is a Chiropractor that specialized in sports and in top of that she is a competitive runner with years of experience, it was like a no brainer to really give it a try. Through the time I met with Dr. Sara she pointed out habits that I had not consider and pointed out that all my issues I had like hips, calf muscle were more for the type of postures I had due to my daily life. She started giving me different exercises that strengthened those areas and after some time, all my tenderness pain was gone. Sometimes when you are in pain, you just go to get a massage but that is a temporary fixed, going with Dr. Sara I found a permanent solution for me. I highly recommend her - 5 Starts read more

I'm a competitive middle distance runner with not a lot of history of injury in the past, but am now in my 30s and had my first serious running related injury this past year. I've know Dr. Sara through the running community for a while but because I am in the Bay Area and she is in Southern California I never thought to reach out to her for my issue I was dealing with this past year. From Dec 2022-April 2023 I was dealing with a weird sensation in my left leg where my leg would go numb and I would lose my balance/ start to trip when trying to switch gears or when I'd be fatigue. I had seen 4 different specialist in my area who could not diagnose the issue properly. I went from thinking it was all in my head to thinking I had some crazy neurological issue and went down a pretty bad spiral of worst case scenario. Dr. Sara actually reached out to me when she saw me post about some of the symptoms I had been dealing with and was highly confident she could figure out the issue and help me through it. During our first consultation she assessed me and diagnosed the issue as a compressed nerve(s) in my lower back which was causing me to lose balance and not be able to produce power on my left side. The first few sessions were focused on nerve exercises and the ones after that were strength focused in mainly the glutes/ hips/core. I've truly never met a Dr. who is as thorough, thoughtful and knowledgeable as Dr. Sara is. She addressed my weaknesses almost immediately, helped correct my deadlift technique, and also held me accountable and checked in routinely to make sure I was keeping up with rehab / exercises (and still does to this day) . She did this all while being remote / virtual too. I have not seen her once in person. Since June I have been able to build my mileage and run symptom free. I am currently running 70-80 MPW, just did my longest run ever this past weekend (18 miles) , & feeling great sprinting too. I have not felt this strong and stable in a very long time. I attribute this to her (and to my new strength coach, who I would have never hired if Sara did not point out all the areas I needed to improve on) if you're dealing with something that has been hard to diagnose and could potentially be neurological / neuromuscular related i could not recommend Dr. Sara enough (even if you have to see her virtually) read more

I ran 14 miles last week, which is 14 miles longer than I was able to run a month ago before working with Sara. Through entirely REMOTE sessions, she was able to 1) provide a diagnosis for the pain I had been experiencing in multiple areas for almost 3 years, 2) give me a realistic recovery plan that works with my insane work schedule, 3) instruct me on how to perform specific movements via remote video calls, and 4) modify our plan week by week based on my progress and pain level. Bit of background on the injuries: former 400m college runner with a minor hip labrum tear, dealt with significant back + hip pain and IT band syndrome that I couldn't get rid of for years. Previously tried physical therapy for over a year with no significant progress. Overall I am extremely impressed with Sara's ability to successfully diagnose and treat my injuries, especially without ever seeing me in person. read more
