That's probably mostly because it's a pain in the ass to find a new family physician though... As a teenager, I had frequent bouts of strep throat, but never the kind that was detected by the rapid swab tests. Even though this became apparent rather quickly, I can't tell you the number of times I had to make numerous trips to Dr. Farber's office when my rapid tests would come back negative and he would tell me it wasn't strep, yet a few days later, the symptoms persisted. I will give their office props for one thing, though: Shortly after I graduated college and was unemployed with no health insurance, I broke my foot. Since I was an established patient at the office, they worked with me to charge me a minimal amount for my visit and they also worked out a deal with the imaging center where I had my x-ray. I was so grateful not to have to worry about being able to afford getting care for my foot and they took excellent care of me. So, while he might not be the sharpest crayon in the medical box, Dr. Farber is a great guy, and he does look out for his patients.

I found this when I was suffering with an acute case of poison ivy rash and called and scheduled an appointment with the nurse practitioner only to receive a return call stating they would not see me. This is a poor policy. It is also a missed opportunity for the provider to catch up with their clients who have not been seen for a period of time. Again no problem with the physicians but most likely Kettering Network not caring for health, rather finances. I ended up seeing a physician via Virtual Visit and was provided with treatment even before the original appointment time I was originally given. If you turn away patients in need I suggest providing them with this information.

I rarely have to wait to get to see the doctor, and the time spent face-to-face with Dr. Porter is valuable, friendly and time well spent. They have Saturday hours and plenty of staff so you can find a doctor with whom you are comfortable. Nice job, folks!

We've never been unhappy with Dr. Black. We've heard others complain about the staff but we've never had a problem. The phone staff (operators) can be less than pleasant at times but nothing that's ever ruined my day or anything. There is one doctor who was the one we were always forced to see if Dr. Black wasn't available (same day appointments, etc.) and we were unhappy with her (poor bedside manner, very, very slow causing a 2 hour wait in the exam room before seeing her). But otherwise, we've been coming here for years and are pleased!

I told her when I was younger I drank too much so I quit, so she put down I'm an alcoholic. I said I had fibromyalgia and was always in pain, she put down I'm an opioid abuser. First doctor didn't believe in fibromyalgia at all and gets his medical advice from Trump. Second doctor didn't care to help me with my issues and walked out of my appointment with her before I was done telling her what was going on. This last doctor refuses to see me now because I accidentally missed an appointment. He was my diabetic and mental health doctor. Now I have no doctor and my meds are running out and I'm screwed. Thanks Margaret Mary, real tight ship you're running there.
