The owner Darlene is a straight up liar. I scheduled to have my dog groomed and showed up at the correct time. I could tell immediately that she had overbooked or had some reason she didn't want to do it that day. She looked my dog up and down looking for an excuse to not keep the appointment. She said my dog was "too skittish" My dog wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary for a regular dog. Years ago I had an extremely anxious dog that would yelp and tug at the salon. I used to take my dog frequently and it wasn't too bad the first few times, our experience was pleasant to begin, but recently I had my boyfriend take my pup back for me and that meant dropping him off before 10am and picking him up once he was done with the cut. After picking up my dog, my boyfriend sent me a video of his eye, which was red from there being a blood spot IN his right eye and he had another cut outside and above the same eye. Not only that, but his nails were not cut like we asked and his anal glands were still full. We ended up having to spend a little over $70 at the vet for an exam, A/G expression, and medications, so we will not be returning. read more

Terrible experience, we asked for a specific cut for our dog and he came back nearly completely bald and caused a terrible rash reaction He also came back with lots of Nicks and cuts around his body, some seem from the shaver and some seem like if he got Bit from an other dog. read more

I brought my 3 pound CHIUAUA "MACHITOO" for nail clipping to my veterinarian and because the CORONA VIRUS that refuse to do nail clipping and recommend me DARLENE DOG PATCH . For my surprise they make him fell welcome and secure. Machito was calm and peacefully. He let them cut his nails and in no time he was back home in good spirit. Women had an attitude upon arrival. We asked for a specific cut for our yorkiepoo and she said she could do it. After 6 HOURS we picked him up and she immediately started making excuses as to how the cut WE requested didn't look right before we even saw him... the cut we regulated was the one he had when we purchased him... Our puppy was in unrecognizable. He was shaved totally bald (he didn't have any matts). Above his nose was shaved completely bald. We only paid $42.00; however, we will not be taking him back. I love Darlene's Dog Patch! I moved to Arlington a couple years ago and my previous groomer was in Lakewood. One day I decided to give this groomer a chance and stop in because it was much closer to my house. I am very glad I did. I only need nail trimmings from the groomer, so we don't need a lot. I love the owner. She is always so kind to me and greets me with a smile. I have 3 chihuahuas and a Dauchpin. The Chihuahuas are a nightmare with getting their nail trims and we all usually go through a hard time getting this simple procedure done. Darlene takes all that anxiety away. She is confident with dogs and they trust her. It also helps greatly that she allows me to be with my dogs when getting their nails cut. It's a family business and we are treated the same when we go in. I am so glad I decided to stop in that day. We are regular customers now. Please support small businesses. My family and I are always pleased with Ms. Darlene and staff. We bought are dog , a toy puddle named Ruffy from Darlene 's Dog Patch back in 2006 for our daughter's 16th birthday and have always appreciated all the services rendered. We moved to Chicago in 2011, moved back to Jax in 2014 and Ruffy desperately needed grooming services. I wasn't sure about going back, but I called today to set up appt. and she told me to bring him within the hr. This is not something she would normally do, but I was ecstatic, because he looked like a small lion. As usual, we were very pleased!
