The eggs were nice and fluffy and the sausage was really flavorful. It came with a side of salsa that added a nice touch of heat to the dish. The service was great! The lady who took my order was friendly and helpful, and she seemed to really enjoy her job. The restaurant itself has a very welcoming vibe. There are two large table in the center of the room and a seating area at the front window that is a pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by as you enjoy your meal. Kate's is a fantastic spot to run in and out for a cup of coffee, or a nice place to sit and read the paper while enjoying an excellent breakfast!

We usually visit their coffee trailer in Surfside Beach, which is the perfect stop before heading to the beach. If you haven't made it to their brick-and-mortar location in Oyster Creek, it's definitely worth the drive. They have a larger menu with delicious food, plus a fun selection of gifts, home décor, and unique items to browse while you wait for your order. It's easy to see why they've become such a favorite for both locals and visitors. Great coffee, wonderful people, and a business that is always finding new ways to make each visit a little different. I would go for the coffee and donuts, but not the kolaches. The normal sausage kolaches and breakfast tacos are not worth going for. I had a taco last year; it was small for the price, tasted old, and the tortilla was hard. The bread on the kolache I had recently also tasted days old and the sausage tastes like it came straight from a pack of wieners. The combo left a weird aftertaste that made me nauseous and now I have 2 large kolaches that I don't want to waste. On top of that, I'm signed up for points for awards but they're not clear or don't seem to know their own rewards system that well? I had 40 points for a free large kolache. I said it twice, showed her my phone, and gestured with my hand for one kolache. The lady grabs three kolaches and puts them in the microwave. I asked her if the rewards said it came with 3 and she said yes. She then proceeds to charge me for 3 kolaches, which is around $10. I took it anyway since I thought they were going to be good, but they weren't. I wish I were more assertive on the spot.

Most were inedible - a wet, mushy order of fries that a prison cook would be ashamed of. So, a wasted order. The grilled cheese was basic white bread with a slice of Kraft Single. I could make something like that at home - actually a 4 year old could make one at home and it would be better than that. My meal gave me flashbacks of a 1980's elementary school cafeteria meal, but worse. Overall, the absolute worst fast food type meal in Brazoria County, and that's saying a lot.
